Default G6X3 cam or something else?

Hey guys, Im currently building a motor for my 88 Formula Firebird that weighs about 3100 with me in it. 6 point cage,Subframe connectors,Jegster torque arm, Welded body seams, Manual steering box, No a/c.

2004 LQ4
4.030 L92 style Mahle pistons 10:1 compression
Eagle H beam 6.125 rods
Stock crank
Ported LS3 heads
Victor Jr intake
Holley 750 DP mechanical
MSD 6010 Box
T56
Moser 9" 4.30 gear

I want to know if the G6X3 will get me into the 10 second area, or do I need to look at a different cam?

I dont have flow specs on the heads, but I would like to mill them just a bit to get around 11.3:1 compression out of the motor. I would Like to run 10s on the motor and later add my 100hp wet kit into the mix. Let me know what you think.

I really wanna make as close to 500Whp as possible. I dont think it will be to much to ask if my heads are ported by wcch or someone else good.

Would I be good going with it or better off power wise to go through tick lik you did? Will it be worth the extra money for a spec'd cam?

It's a very nice cam. It is pretty big tho, from what I hear. I'm Not sure on the specs.

FWIW, My buddy's 2011 SS makes 536 rwhp with a set of Ported LS3's, ported Victor Intake, 4150 stle TB, with a carb hat on top of it, and with the g6x3 cam. Stock bottom End LS3. It does run on E85 tho as well.

I think the g6x3 would help you meet your goals with ease. Also fwiw, the single plane made 12 rwhp over the ported ls3 intake but he actually lost 20 ft lbs trq by doing the victor intake swap.

Good Luck with it man!

It will go 10s if the converter and trans, and the rear are right. Leave the heads alone. A cam that is for ls3 heads on a tighter lsa would run harder than a off shelf grind. But it should get the job done. Also, hit that bastard with a 150 when ready.
