Default lq4 cam/carb

What difference in cam setups are you guys running with carbs? I have a stock 6.0 bottom end with 317 heads milled .02 and .04 gasket I was looking at tick performance sns stg 2 mild version 226/234 .590/.600 110+3.. what do you guys think of that setup? Behind it will be a th350 with 3200 stall. Mainly used on street not a dd but would take to the track everynow and then. Will a 750cfm carb like that setup on a single plane intake?

Would work very well. My lq4 is about identical with a trex 242/248 .610/.615 on a 110 lsa. 4500 converter and 4.30 gears. 90%street 10%strip. Absolute blast to drive.

That is nearly identical to my camshaft. I think you will be very pleased.

I concur with the members who have already posted. With a 3200 stall you don't want to go too large and that cam will be a great addition to your set-up.

Yep, trunion upgrade is a cheap insurance to know that the stock bearings don't puke out. Although I have neer had this happen.

Have you called Martin at Tick yet? If you give him all your build info, he can spec out a custom cam for your setup and Comp will grind it a few short days later and drop it at your door. My cam arrived before my push rod/spring kit arrived. Just a thought...

Yes it will.

Stock rockers arms are the lightest rocker arms available for the LS engines. The only time I do not use stock rockers is when I'm doing a solid roller or the customer already has after roller rockers.

Do yall think I would have enough compression to run that cam if I just did the head gasket and not mill them? If I don't should i run something more like 223/227 .610/.610 111+2? I just don't want it to be a dog down low

With a 3200 stall the 226/234 will be fine, but you could run that 223/227 with great results too. Either will work great with your combo.

The best thing about my smaller TorqueMAX cams are they create awesome dynamic compressoin. With 10.8-11.0:1 static compression the dynamic compression with the stage two is at 8.7:1-8.9:1 which IMO is perfect for pump gas. Higher dynamic compression with the smaller cam along with the overlap the TorqueMAX cams have, are how the "SNS" cams make so much torque.

Hey martin I'm using the Wallace racing calculator and if I'm doing everything right the mild stg 2 cam closes about 65 degrees ABDC. If I'm just running the head gasket static will be around 9.7:1 and dynamic will be around 7.65:1. Does this sound about right and will that be too low? There may be a better way to calculate this also so feel free to enlighten me! I know I sound like a woman asking all these questions but I like my **** right ha

No you've got it right! Intake valve closes at 65 degrees ABDC. Since you have a dished piston motor, you could mill the heads a good bit to bring the compression up and/or run a thinner head gasket to tighten the quench up also.
