550 with shipping from jegs. im a little nervous about the fit tho because they want you to use thier mount and trans kit thats almost 600 bucks, instead i bought spohn frame mounts and umi alum motor mounts, i figure ill shim up if need be.

I just use the plates that adapt to the stock mount. That is a very nice price compared to the other options out there.

Do you have the cam allready? Ever thought of going to a custom grind from a sponser. With that big of stall and gears I think you can go bigger.

I agree with onefast84. From now on all my cams will be custon ground. They are like $20 more dollars than a shelf cam. My carb cam numbers looks nothing like your everyday LS shelf cams. Id give Martin at Tick a call if you havent settled with your cam yet.

Imma ***** for the trex since it is tried and true usually. But that is only because they are cheap and used everywhere. So I save money. Otherwise, custom is always the way to go.

So, you have hawks now? Or still the headmans?

We have a few, always glad to see more. Even though the headers selection is lackluster.

i bought the long block the way it sits now, with the cam and 243's what cam would you reccomend? and how big can i go before i need to clearance the pistons? would there be that much of a difference with a bigger cam? and what about aftermarket heads? would they be worth it?

zone, jegs sent me the wrong hedmans, they are for a 1st gen. the guys at tgo caught it. called em to make sure they admitted it, so im sending those back tonight, the hawks are on thier way.. 550 vs 900!!!!! after seeing the flat collector the hedmans have i figured they had to hang down pretty low in order to do that and got scared away. so i ordered 1-3/4 with 3'' collectors from hawks. i wanted to go 1-7/8 or 2'' because i hope to do a 383 next winter but i guess we'l see what happens 1-3/4 should be fine. my wife is going to hang me! im waaaay over budget lol n not even done yet!!!!

Did you mean on a 107 intake centerline?

Different position of the motor mounts make the placement of the collectors vary per vehicle. My straight up mounts were placing them nicely. My 1 inch set backs in my 86 TA made them sit right beside up against the frame rails just a touch. I used a band clamp via lap joint over the collectors and just rode with it. The Polly mounts presented enough stability to not allow any noise so far. But, better than the alternative. Just wish they made a mild steel version that was cheaper.
