Don't have the funds for the turbo, fuel system to support it, blow through carb, clutch capable of holding the power, the Trans was sold and a stock one given to me for exchange.
So, the more I think about it, the more I want to go ahead and sacrifice the 1994 gmc 4.8 liter for this with the edelbrock 2215 cam. Just seems like the way to go. But the 6 liter would be a blast with the extra power. And I could beat up on other cars pretty easily. The thought of a mean *** truck is hard to resist....

Talked myself into it, doing the 2215 edelbrock cam, 4.8 liter, of course t56 and a 4.10 geared 8.8 from an exploder. Gonna be a fun truck, but I will be curious how well it may run.
I will sell you this 400 out of my S-10 after it is rebuilt. I just want the cost of rebuild so I can get a turbo 350. Then you just flop a converter on it and go. unless you want a brake and manual valve body.. The shop I am taking it to said $375 for the rebuild for back to stock, and that should hold up to my racing the 5.3 with 150 nitrous. They will put a manual valve body in it if I bring it along, or a transbrake valve body. Whichever I want in it they will install it for free. But the cost of whichever valvebody is in addition to the $375
Just food for thought.
With the milder engine. I believe a NV3500 would work fine. You know the T56 is worth a good bit of money. Sell it use the funds on the mustang use a NV3500 on the truck with a 3.27 or 3.55 gear. The trans would be cheaper to replace if you broke it. also cheaper clutch and just as fun of a beater.
I did a S/10 with a 5.3 224TR camshaft NV3500 it was a fun truck that got great gas mileage and pulled very good to 6500. I ran a 3.42 gear with a torsen posi.
96-97 have the shifter a bit forward and the 98-04 have the shifter closer to the seat like the 4 cylinder with a straight up shifter.
DO NOT use the NV3500 with the slave cylinder under the starter as the ratios are junk. (90-95) 4.08 1st .87 5th

Thanks for the info, that will be great for future reference!
The t56 is going in. The 4.8 won't break it, I ran them stock behind cammed 6 liters and only had issues from stock rebuilds where worn parts were not replaced. Have a brand new clutch disc already as well.
This turd will need the 4.10s, and the double OD is the way.

Well, not having much luck finding cheap headers. The ones posted earlier from headman pull up as 1 3/4, perfect. The part number pulled up through jegs says 1 5/8....not good.

Don't have time for those games. When I start building my projects, it is full steam ahead and anything holding me back like that will make me more angry than I need to be.
