Are you running a cathedral port head on your build? If so, I think your right. With the rec heads, I think you are on the bubble. I rev very clean to 7K with my small cam/dual plane setup, with great low RPM drive ability . I don't think the dual will hurt your top end charge at all with a small cube, LS3 head combo, but it will extend the power DOWN in the RPM range, IMO.

I think they found some flow testing that proved capping off the top helped on carb applications, like the old racers trick back in the 70's of running an oval port BBC intake on Rectangle Port heads.
I have the 300-129 LS3 version of this as well, same price.
Thanks, Mike

You should shout to the roof tops that you have the LS3 headed intake. I think that's the intake more people have been waiting for because they don't what to pay GM prices for a dual plane intake.

The runners on my single plane intake, a man's intake by the way, are the same shape. They are squared off on the top and don't match the steeple part of the intake runner cathedral.

I thought it was the other way around with the BB chevy intake ? IE people ran the square port intake on the oval heads ? This was due to the better (higher rise ?) intakes being available in the Rect port. Supposedly works well. better than you might thing with the port mismatch.

I might try one of these sometime to see if they are any different than the edelbrock.
