I needed a new engine for my 2004 3/4 ton. Sorry, I know you have full coverage. I'll cover some of the deductible.

Just for ***** and grins, took the 2002 SS to the 1/8. Went 9.0 at 82 on a garbage 60. The street radials won't do much as you know. So, cannot wait to pull the stock 3.42 rear and install the 8.8 with 4.30s, shocks, torque arm, trans mount and 26x11.5x16 ET streets and let it eat. Then I'll do headers, Y pipe, exhaust and tune and try it again. Would be cool to run a 7.9 with no cam.

It is alive!

Installed some new spiders in the rear so I could drive it while waiting for the S60.

Got mine out today also.
Played with the carb some and got 1-2" more vacuum, AFR reading 13-15 at idle (still jumps ) Went for a cruise with daughter and her boyfriend
At 2000 -3500 cruise rpm's AFR was pretty steady at mid 13's, at red light I seen 19 once or twice blip the gas and came right down into the 13.7-15 range.
Exhaust smells a lot cleaner too

Anywho....a WOT pass shifting at 5500ish the boy was white knuckled

His Grandfather flips cars after fixing them up. When he sees him, he works on a 69 Camaro (full resto), so I thought I'd give him some drive to "git-r-dun"
He really likes the LSx power too LOL.

I'm sure it should not have a problem. They run 6.9s or so when they have a cam and everything is right.

I was sure thing I would use a set of the 3.5s when I went to a bigger engine, but being that I'm abandoning NA and nitrous, so much for that.

Just got home about 20 minutes ago....car weighs 3420 w/ me in it
I thought with all the new sheet metal, ProStars, glass hood, aluminum heads, 10 gal. fuel cell (w/3 gallons of fuel), ETC, ETC it would be a lot less.
Car was all steel, had keystones, SBC w/ steel heads, stock gas tank, and lots of bondo

Oh well....is what it is.
