i was 315 last january. i'm 246 as of this morning. i have at least another 21lbs to go before i'm satisfied. hard to justify spending thousands on lightweight parts and be a fatty like i was.

i think 3400lbs with a 200lbs driver as complete as your car is is pretty fantastic Doug. I was in the same boat with mine 2 years ago. i was 3550 or so with me in the seat. i'm hoping to be 3100 or less this year

Lol, the 80 mustang was 3060 with me in the seat before going to bigs and littles and removing all impact bars. Not bad at all, lol. But I would always like to be lighter in the chassis. Need to lose 40 pounds as I sit right now....

Well, made some changes to my induction. Not big changes, but had to get more clearance at carb. I removed the 2 inch open spacer since my carb was pretty much touching the hood. Car ran like complete crap last time out, went out 4th round with a red light. Only dialed a 6.52 at 1 point.....car has been 6.28 on gas, so this E85 isnt going well. I am thinking since carb was so close to hood it was very rich, hence it was picking up a lot as the air cooled down. IDK. Carb is away from hood now and i should have some new tires here today. The new MT pro bracket radial in 28x9. this should cure my blowing the tires off on the 1-2 shift, and hopefully carb works better this week. Car feels like it wants more timing on E85. It has never equaled my best gas 60ft. On gas 60 was 1.34(usually) and best on e85 is 1.38. But, the only way I can describe it is the car feels kinda doggy like it needs more timing. Hard to believe since its at 39, but I did bump it up 1 degree 1 pass and it had more mph, but spun bad on shift so I turned it back to 39. I hope to get some decent results this weekend.

I don't know how much longer LS engines will be cheap and plentiful. There are at least 4 different companies that are advertising in my local craigslist that they want to buy all LS engines running or damaged.

I actually hadn't thought much about it, but with the introduction of the direct injection "LT1" versions they will be phasing out the regular cathedral port and L92/LS3 port engines over the next few years. Sure they've made millions of them since 1997, but those can dry up awfully quick. Some cast iron block 4.8L & 5.3L CORE charges are $2500 for a new motor from Chevrolet.

If they get expensive I'll just be patiently waiting for the new gen v to get cheap. Lol

And a interesting thing a tuner friend noticed is a new gen v 5.3 is moving the same grams of air as a 6 liter LQ engine. That's pretty impressive.

Greed drives the economy....now some want to hoard the LS motors (supply and demand) only to drive the prices up

Exhaust project is done. it was quite the "exhaustive" weekend, lol! i started on saturday about 9am when it tried to snow on me but it quickly stopped and turned out to be a decently nice (albeit chilly) weekend.

A job well done. You have a pipe bender by chance? Or pre bent? Did not remember seeing some of those bends in the box of parts.
