Default LQ4 or LS1

Looking to make more hp for my SS, its a daily driver so good driveability is a must. Looking to get in the 475-500whp range.

My question to you guys is, whats a good setup that some of you are running?
..and should I be looking for a 6.0l block?

...also, is the the correct thread to ask these question? (ie should I move to the internal section)

the actual cam in the car is a comp xr265 ( 212/218, .525 lift)...I get the .575 lift in the sig from the use of 1.85 RR. could i use this cam and stock heads on a 6.0 block, and what kind of numbers should i get?

That cam is awefully small. You will not hit your goal with it. I would suggest LS2 402 or LS1 383 stroker. Stock 6.0 iron block will not be worth the weight for the hp gain you would get.

that cam in a 6.0 will be very responsive, may be lacking for your goal hp.
but it will be fun to drive.

i may just try out that cam with stock heads on a 6.0 for this year, then go with a 408 stroker, comp xr273, and l92 heads later next summer or next winter....i think that set up will get me 450whp+..
