Not sure where to post this but i need an answer.. So here it goes ... i have a 99 trans am auto. when im in park it idles at 600 rpms and in gear stopped it sits at 400 to 500 rpms.. And when im driving 40 down a hill on its own power letting it decell the rpms drop below 500 almost 300 rpms then jump up above 1000 rpms.. searching to stay running.. Some times when i come to a stop its been know to die completely.. I replace all the vacume and pcv lines and replace intake gaskets.. So i cant figure out whats wrong... so help me out thanks
also, i just have the basic bolt ons. lontubes, slp lid, hypertech programer. help is needed...thanks everyone

Sounds like it could possibly be a failing or dirty maf. Is the SES light on?

Yeah but its been on since i owned the car .. basically when i took the cats out... but i ran fine for a year like that

So, you took the cats off? What about the 02 sensors?

I drilled the y pipe and welded bungs back into it and put the sensors back in it... they say it will sun a little richer but like i said i have been running the car like that for over a year and zero problems till now

So exactly what code is it throwing? That will give you a good idea as to what's wrong with the car.
