Well if you havent spent mont on any trans, a turbo 400 would probably be the easiest. A 4l80 would be nice because of overdrive, but if your not driving much on the highway then its not needed. Plus it would probably do good with your 2.73 gears and a turbo 400. those 7.5 dont last with higher gears.

1) the cheap bov's leak. mine did anyways. was losing 1-2psi there. I turned the vale in my lathe because it had huge runout. once i did that, it seals.
2) DO NOT skimp on wastegate. I tried a few different ones. not very good and one locked shut on me and my boost spiked, lucky i have a quick reaction and let off. I now have a tial and it controls boost much better. if you do go cheap, make sure its a copy of something your going to upgrade to. I lucked out and found a tial that directly mounted to my setup without cutting or redoing anything.

im going to run two 38 mm wastegates . i figure the chance of them both malfunctioning at the same time is pretty slim i run a cheap blow off valve on my srt4 with 23 lbs of boost an no problems .ill give it a try an i can always upgrade later . trying to get it running as cheap as possible an make desent power

Well i'm just trying to give you advice based on my experience. My opinion is you'll be trying to band aid it and cheap out where you shouldnt. I can totally relate to being on a budget. I get it, I am too. And I cheaped out too. I know engines are cheap, but if your ok with buying another $300-$400 engine that also requires alot of work to pull, prep replacement, buy new fluids, make a mess, new gaskets, and put it back in....or you could just put your finished project date off for another month, skip eating out a few times or something and spend $350-$400 one time and have piece of mind and much better boost control. I got lucky. You may not, even with two. But hey, your choice.

blow off valve isnt that important. Alot of people run without them. You just may have a small pressure leak.

youll only need one wastegate. I thought that a 44mm wouldn’t be good enough but it controls mine down to 2psi. I have a 5.7 and it’s flowing a lot of air and turns 7000+rpm. So yea, that’s all you need. You want quicker spoiling, run 2.25 exhaust crossover and 2.5” intercooler piping. If I had to do it over again, I’d run 2.5” pipe but a 3” inlet/outlet intercooler. I feel like the inlet and outlet is a restriction because it’s so thick right there so it’s smsller than your piping. Just my theory.
