I have seen a lot of 4th gen red and white camaro's with black roofs lately and I was wondering if this was an option on certain camaro's? What years was it offered with the black roof? Hopefully someone can answer my questions.

With a few rare exceptions all V8 powered Camaros came with black roof bands. With T-top cars the whole roof looks black. With hard top cars the roof from the windshield to the roof band will be body color but the roof band will be black. If you see one all body color its a v6.

I dunno, something freaky was definitely going on at the factory. In `93 they started painting the Z28 roof and mirrors black. The whole roof was painted black whether it was a T-top car or not. Also generally the door handles are black, but I' ve also seen them body color. I have also seen Z28' s and SS's with the body color roof, and V6 cars with a black roof. At some point, don' t remember what year, the mirrors went body color. Maybe some of those crazy canucks were smoking a little wacky tobacky before painting some of these cars. I dunno, but while for the most part the cars are uniform (black roof of V8 cars), there are some oddballs out there.
