I have never owned a red sports car, but the one i am looking at right now is bright red. So my question to those of you that do/have owned a red camaro or such, do you feel like your targeted more by cops as oppose to other cars, or is it all a hoax?!

They can't target you if you are not doing anything wrong. I have never been singled out by the police just because I drive a red car. Most of the time I get stopped it's because I did something stupid.

Thats how i feel, i mean yea they stand out more, but if your doing something wrong, your doing something wrong, no color is gonna cause you to not get pulled over for doing something illegal, haha, im just waiting on a response from this seller, and hopefully soon i'll be the owner of my own red SS, cant wait

I get about a ticket a year in my red car. I averaged about the same in my last car that was black. I had a gold daily driver that I drove for 3 years and never got 1 ticket.

Ive gotten pulled over a rediculous amont of times sionce I had my red SS I got it in november and have gotten pulled over more than 5 times. I had my black third gen for 2 years and got pulled over once. I used to drive like a dick in that thiung and now I drive like an old man most of the time and still get pulled over, so yea its true

I definitely get pulled over more in my SS than in my DD, and every time in the Camaro I wasn't doing anything that I wouldn't have been doing in my DD. I definitely feel like I'm singled out by cops when I'm in my Camaro, whether that's because it's red or just that it's a sports car, I'm not sure.

Red stands out more, the rest of the equation is up to you.

Red Camaro with loud exhaust and a young driver = lots of attention, from everyone, so if you get squirrly, or anything else, someone will be watching. It's a myth that they target them, but just fact that they stand out more.

I think the Red car myth is somewhat true. I have blown by cops in my 99 and nadda, get a ticket every year and a half or so now. Bought the WS6 and within the first week I had been pulled over 5 times!!! And no I wasn't driving like a moron either, just 5 over if that. One of the cops gave me a problem because I asked him if his radar gun was calibrated in the last couple of days... guess that was bad on my part I guess.

Agreed, my 400 hp daily driver is silver, (and a gto) and cops don't notice it, my red 400 hp WS6 gets the cops attention. (even before longtubes and corsa exhaust was installed)

I think its true just because red stands out more. But it also depends on how you drive and how strict the cops are.

I get pulled over all the time in my bright red z/28 for the worst reasons. The car seems to get everyones attention more including the cops.

I think I've seen more yellow cars and ricers get pulled over than just red cars in general.

I had an 89 RS and got pulled over for everything from them thinking i didnt have a seatbelt ( i did honest) to 5 over to 88 and a 55... (got a ticket for that) lol but i also got out of dragracing from one town to another ... hitting 110 a couple times them behind us the whole time. me and 95 RED camaro... so it kinda just depends on everything. but i did get away with alot in my white maxima and my maroon camaro now.

also... side note ran the 89 into a pole going from 70 slammed breaks then about 30 ish around a ...(yeah posted sighn) 15mph curve that was basically a 90* angle... everyone was fine though xcept the camaro....

Accidentally clicked the Camaro Sect, but I've owned 2 Red Firebirds, and NEVER gotten pulled over once in them. I owned an 86 lifted Suburban with chameleon flames and I got pulled over a ton in that. Hell I got pulled over 2 days after I got it -_-

As said, it's an urban legend.

that 95 camaro was me.. muhahahahahaha.. es it was red... we got clocked 85 in a 45 (in a town KNOWN for its tickets in this area)... and then three more times 100+ in 55s and 45s.... they caught up to us about 3 minutes later at a red light.... NO TICKET THOUGH!
