Default Hot August Nights, Who's going?

Time for the annual roll call for Hot August Nights in Reno the first week in August. I am staying at the Grand Sierra and will be there Wednesday through Sunday. Anybody up for our usual LSx meeting at A&W on Thursday afternoon? We will probably be doing the poker run so can't get to A&W until about 2.

Well, you know my Dad and I will be there. I'm really looking forward to getting up there again. We've gotten our little spring cleaning projects on the car done, so we're ready to go.

Hopefully it's a little warmer on Thursday this year.

Wish I could make it this year. My car should actually be almost done if not done in time to make it this year but I just had major back surgery so I want be up for that long of a haul. Sense I have been stuck at home bored cause I can't really do any thing constructive, I have just sit on the inet ordeing new wheels, tires and complete pro-touring suspension. I ask them what does it cost to make a 1965 f-85 cutlass handle as good a a 1985 iroc z that is what I want. They told me it would handle even better. We shall see about that. You guys have fun. I really would like to do the Tao thing along with Reno. Look for Project LS1 F-85 pulling a 60's model camper trailer next year. I'll be starting in the mountains of Tao. I am a flat lander what can I say.

If it was called "cool spring nights" and held a lot earlier in the year, I might go. As bad as I hate the heat, I sure don't need to go to Reno in August.

I was supposed to be going this year but my family decided to plan the family vacation right at the same time, so I'm going with them instead. Oh well, at the rate I'm going I'll be lucky if my car is finished in time for next year.

Last year was crazy cold for August in Reno. The people selling sweatshirts were making a killing. It rained during the poker run on Thursday and that night was especially cool. Given the snow the Sierras had this year I will promise that you will see snow up in the mountains. This year, if long range forecasts are worth anything, looks like triple digits. So bring your wide brim hats and sunscreen! Hot August Nights indeed! See ya'll there!

Yeah..
I the past, I told my boys that if they didn't bring it, they are going with out it.. LOL.. but Boys are easier anyway...... Now they come and take off and just meet me for meals and use the room..!

last year I start with 3 kids (all over 17).. woke up in the middle of the night and found I had 5 kids in the room after I almost tripped on one of them.. I thought I was still asleep when I counted 5 ! yikes..! LOL... at lease they are into going and being on there own now and in enjoying the event !
