Question 4L80E connector wiring question

Hi everyone I bought a 2002 lq4 with a wiring harness from a wrecker but the transmission harness was cut and missing the connector. I bought a 2001 4L80E and got the missing end of the transmission harness...both have 11 wires going to the connector end but the wires are different colours. I can't find a diagram that actually matches the colours of my existing harness. Just seeing if anyone knows which wire to connect to which?

Thanks,
Phil

Looks like exposure to light maybe changed the colors. Try to go up further in the harness to see if they look different. If not you will have to trace them back to the pin on the ECM connector to be sure.

Here are two diagrams for a 2000, that between the two show 11 wires going into the Trans, and they seem to show different colors for the trans and PCM.

I have a 98(I think) that has the connectors still attached< I will look at to see if there is a color mis-match, probably be tomorrow though.

Trans connector

engine side This may be further up the harness since the pin config does not seem to match.

Hey thanks for the help guys. I think I tracked most of the wires down. Just not sure about one. I have one coming from pin 75 of C1(blue connector)...looks to be a faded pink wire. Is that what feeds pin E of the trans connector from the ign fuse 10A? On another pin out diagram I found it said it was off/crank/run voltage. And that pin 79 should be my 3-2 shift solenoid....but my pin 79 is empty. Photo of what I have.

Pin 75 of the PCM C1 connector should be a pink wire that gets ignition + 12v in run and start. Both that and pin E of the trans connector get power from the same 10A fuse in the instrument panel fuse center.

pin 79 should be my 3-2 shift solenoid

Thats a 60e wiring diagram. The 80e only has a 1-2, 2-3, and TCC solenoid. The 60e has 4 solenoids instead of the 80e`s 3 solenoids.

Ah! That makes sense. Thanks. So my pin 75 going to the trans makes sense.

I think pin 75 and pin E on the connector just get 12v on start and run, they don't necessarily go to each other. I went through this same experience when I got my lq4. I bought a connector and had to use a multimeter, a truck wiring pinout, and a trans pinout to figure out all the wiring due to color fade and some ambiguous coloring. This one helped me http://www.rostratransmission.com/ma...Form4176E.pdf.

Just be patient and use the process of elimination!

I think the 4l80e has two speed sensors. 99-02 red connector 20+21, 22+23. I think ones Iss and maybe ones Oss? Someone else can correct me but a search could probably tell you which one to tap.
