Thanks for the complements.

The mounts will be a solid piece from the subframe all the way up to the SBC mounts that are pictured on the first page. If you're going to use the rb20det or rb25det subframe then you will need the sbc plate and mounting hardware, otherwise there's other options out there if you do a search.

I'll get everything together once I get my car back. That way I'll know for sure what exactly needs to be done to get the motor in.

I'm not a big fan of swapping across brands, but I'll be curious to see the outcome. I always wanted an RB powered kouki and my fiance has a lightly modded mediterranean blue KA zenki, but I still can't decide what front end I like better. Both damn good looking cars.

Are you doing hard or soft mounts? If soft I'm very interested in the mounts and would be keeping in touch with you as far as that goes

I'd also like that parts list..I've figured a rough estimate and I'd like to see how close or far away from it I am.
if you really want soft mounts you can use the stock camaro mounts. they work. i have no problems with them.

THanks! Looks like I'll be getting my car in 3 weeks. Shop is busy I'm hurting without a car already. Oh well... btw does anyone have extra flywheel bolts and an extra injector clip? I lost mine... damn it! I don't mind paying for it or whatever. Thanks ahead of time!

Ace is the place...for flywheel bolts. True Value too for that matter. Just buy some 10.9 bolts of the same length.

Some updates. I stopped by the shop today and took a few pictures. Installation is going well as far as I can see. I'm glad to see the motor mounts (pictures below) look very sturdy. I've also seen my transmission mount, and that looked great but I don't have a picture of it. The motor sits a bit more forward than I would like, and as a result the shifter hole will need to be cut a bit, but that's a minor issue. As far as the headers go, the JBA headers looked to be a good choice to use and modify (thanks Slo_240sx!!). I need more pictures of the clearance, but there was enough room for the engine to torque and move while preventing the headers from running into the steering column. Also, subframe spacers were used to allow the transmission, as well as header, clearance. There's been several arguments as to dropping the subframe causing suspension characteristics to be altered, but to my knowledge the suspension moves relative to the subframe so by lengthing the shock body (i have coilovers separate from preload adjustments) it should be ok. I'll have to leave feedback once I get to drive it on the road (2 more weeks or so). Here's the pictures thus far...

I'll follow up with some better pictures later. As for the transmission mount bushing (they call it a standard gm engine mount) I'm using an after-market polyurethane bushing by Energy Suspension.

That is the nicest transmission mount I have seen yet! Looks like the shop is doing a nice job for you. Keep the information and pictures coming. Ken.

Thanks for the complements guys! I couldn've done it with the information provided here and the previous guys who've done the swap (ls1neezy, datbratboi, slo240sx, and many others on this forum... sorry i can't remember all the names!).

I'm especially glad to work with Steen Chassis and Fabrication in Signal Hill, CA. Not only have they done a great job but they're very professional and very easy to work with! I couldn've been happier! A+!

More pictures!

Wow, I'm in the Walnut area and I am also really interested in seeing your car. That shop looks like a nice place. How much are they charging to get everything done?

^ YES! I want my car to be smog legal. I'm expecting to speak with the REFs on several occasions. Although tedious I WANT my car to be daily drivable and appease the law(s).

Update! The car is running and coming along nicely! I had a wiring issue which hindered progress for a few days. The problem stemmed from using existing wires on the s14 to hook up the injectors. THAT was the problem! It didn't allow the injectors to pulse because the wires within the chassis didn't allow the full current to be given. So keep this as a note when you install your next ls1! Don't use the existing wiring! I'll follow up with vids later.

yea nissan has horrible wiring. they use one 14 gauge wire and split it to like 5 other 14 gauge wires. and people dont understand why they have massive voltage drops.

mine go straight to the ign on the key. had no problems. but a relay is the best way to go for voltage.
