Default What fuel rail with Vette filter/regulator

Hey guys, I was wondering if the fuel rail off my 05 LQ4 would work with the corvette fuel filter/regulator? Im pretty sure I still need to get a return style but I am just curious. BTW I will be using the truck intake as well. Let me know, thanks.

Sam

You do NOT need or want a fuel rail with a return line.

since the vette filter/regulator has a line coming out of it for the return, if you keep a fuel rail that has a return on it, you are basically going to spill fuel all over the place, so either get a regular filter assembly, or get a 99 up vette single inlet fuel rail.

Because the Vette reg/filter has the return line on it.

Yes, but does it just feed the fuel rail with 58psi all the time? Or do I have to run a pump that varies pressure?

Assuming the pump to be good, the fuel rail should see 58-62 psi, at all times.

So all I will need is a vette filter/reg, intank pump, and one line feeding the fuel rail? Anything I am missing?

You need a return line from the filter/regulator back to the tank.

The reason for the return line is so the pump flows enough fuel volume per minute to supply the engine and cool the pump with the excess fuel flow. So, use the '99 Vette filter/regulator: 3/8 fitting on inlet is supply from pump; 5/16 fitting on inlet side is return to tank and single 3/8 fitting on outlet side goes to the one-line fuel rail. The filter/regulator must have been made for swaps ....

only the '99 filter/reg will work? My returnless fuel rail is pretty much made for this setup already isnt it?

on my 06 swap, I used the stock returnless rail, with that vette filter/reg. That's all u need, and connect lines to tank/rail accordingly.

So I'll be good to go with a stock 99 vette filter/reg? Is that the only year I can get? Part number? I will be ordering today..

The GM number is 10299146. That's the 99 and newer Corvette filter/regulator. This should work great for your application.

You could go with an expensive Aeromotive regulator, but by the time you buy all of the needed fittings, you'll have 3-4 times as much money in it!
