Miro's LS1 240 Drift Build
Wing is done and feels solid.
I now have a sweet trailer thanks to Kareem. But! I have nothing to tow it with (parents bitching about using Durango) and nowhere to park it. As you can see, it's currently on the street. Need to buy, insure, and register truck by Friday. Yay.
Dude, lmk if you want to make some pimp Billet wing mounts. Yours look good, but I just hate seeing fabbed parts where billet should be. You need to pickup an old Dodge 12V, cheap, fun, and if you want...fast.
congrats on the trailer it looks great! That wing is ridicilous ! so much taller than it was.. it looks pretty solid too. G/L findin a truck!! its always nice to browse through this thread. G/L Miro!
Billet would be awesome. Was thinking of making the drawings and sending them out to get CNC'ed, but wanted to get the wing back on as soon as possible. Also, making the steel ones gave me a chance to make sure I liked where the wing was sitting.
I would say all you really need is a billet mount on the car with a slot in it. Much like what you have only taller with the slot and come counter bores to hide the bolts. It be nice if you could mold a little piece of ally or steel to get the profile of the deck lid and I could 3-D that and they'd sit perfectly flush. Then we could do the uprights on the water jet with a buncha different holes locations if you want. It would be alot lighter all out of aluminium.
I will get back to you about the wing. All of this sounds very baller. Have to spend some time on getting car to drive properly first.

Sounds good, just lmk and we'll get you sorted out properly. I wouldnt need much other than the bolt pattern and hight of the block. If you wanted to do the stands then you may need to make a few measurements of your current ones. I can make solid models and send pictures of what they will look like before I cut them too.
Nice pics!!! You got a Range Rover Sport for your tow vehicle?!?

lol... no. Those were some helpful dudes that towed us back to the pits after I popped off a radiator hose and slid off the track in my water... nice. My friend Brad towed my car to the track.
Too much awesome happened over the weekend to describe. I didn't drive that awesome though. Car was ridiculously loose at high speeds. The first part of the course was 3rd gear and then had to get into 4th towards the end (which sucked because my clutch is like on the floor and hard to shift at high rpm. If I adjust it up any more, there will be pressure in the line all the time, which I don't like.). I qualified 9th on Friday out of 22 cars that showed up, so at least got into the top 16 in my first "real" competition. But then I lost to Matt Waldin in the first round of competition on Saturday.
I'm pretty sure the car is driving crazy like this because of the sway bar situation. So I'm taking off the rear bar also and am going to go up on spring rate to keep the car from rolling too much. I took off the rear bar and ordered 10kg/mm springs on Monday. So going to go from 8kg/6kg with rear bar to 10kg/8kg with no bars. Also, toed in the front a little bit since the car was really snappy on entry and sort of wandering around on the highway.
I really need a tire sponsor. Right now I'm basically running on whatever used/cheap tires I can get a hold of. This is nicer for my budget but really sucks for driving because car handles totally different every time I switch tires. Would be really awesome to run on the same tire every time out. The good thing is that I've been able to experiment with a lot of different tires and sizes. The best ones by far I've driven on so far were 235/40R18 Nitto 555. They were pretty grippy and really consistent throughout the run, but that's a bit too expensive to be buying new. Probably going to run 255/35R18 Federal 595s. Looking to try on some Nexen N3000s also since clubloose has a sweet sponsorship deal with them now. So prices are right.
Next event I'm driving is tonight's clubloose event at E-town. Then, I'll be doing a demo with the Rated D dudes at the Funk Flex car show in Edison on Saturday.

I am indeed having a lot of fun driving. But will have much more once stuff stops breaking!
Car drove pretty decent last night with no rear sway bar, but hard to tell since it was in the rain.
LS1 RX8 sounds very nice. Please do it.

Grab some fender flares and try running some 275's
I think Ive narrowed my drift build down to an Ls1/FC Rx7. Seem to be the cheapest for the swap parts atleast and a running car can be had for $1000.
I vote for the Lsx/S2000, I think these could turn into the next FD Rx7.

265 is probably the limit for me... This thing is not THAT powerful. Also don't want to have to bang the rev limiter all day to get this thing to slide. It's nice chillin out at 4-5k RPM and not beating the crapola out of the motor. It's plenty fast on 245s or 255s to keep up with the competition if I drive well.
As long as its competetive and your having fun!!
The FD RX7 is alot more "elegant" of a car than the S2000 and everyone puts the LSX in them. I just think the S2K with an Lsx is the perfect street car like the V8 FD, all kinds of power, sexy looks, and tons of wheel choices. Plus there are tons of S2K's out there compared to the FD and unlike the miata, its not a 90% chick car. I cant afford an S2K or FD...so the FC or S13 are my only choices.

Lol. I'd drive a Miata. Hmmm. Pink LS1 Miata.
What I really want to build is an old school Jag XJS... the early 90s ones with the double headlights. Slammed, aero, baller wheels, LS3, basic cage.. my dream drift car... lol. I don't know, always liked that car for some reason and would be really different I think.
July 4th fun... Rated D private day at Penn State Oval:

Video coming soon...
I think the starter is going to crap out soon. It makes an annoying whining sound for a split second when I'm starting the motor. The headers aren't crazy close to the starter, and they're heat wrapped, so not sure what the problem is.
I bought a '99 Silverda 1500 5.3L V8, so I'm towing the car around now.

Kind of miss driving the car on the streets.. want to do more of that. Hopefully I'll have all the little issues worked out of it in the next month or so, and then I can just drive it around on week nights to pick up girls instead of fixing stuff every night. Should have done RHD conversion... way easier to talk to girls on the street lol.
Next event is East Coast Bash 3 this weekend at E-town, then Drift Nirvana in two weeks in WV.

I found a '92 Jaguar XJ6 40.0 sport auto for $2500ish.. and there is more of them in that range..
Fond plenty of xjs but no double lights..

Double headlights are a must. That's a big part of the sexiness for me. I have to do a lot more research and find time and money if I ever do it. That's why it's a "dream"... haha. But maybe a project for this or next winter if I have nothing to do. Going to concentrate on driving for now and try to actually get somewhere with this.
Interested to see what info you got on the clutch. But I'm really awesome at flushing the fluid now after doing it like every week. Takes me like 5 mins now. Would be awesome if I didn't have to do that though... lol.
