Yeah, definitely following your build. Starions are cool. For some reason I feel like a dork for saying that... but they are.

The event last night was awesome. Crazy manji entries with 3rd and 4th gear drifting... was a blast. Hopefully some pics will be posted soon. This guy Pat that does alignments for R/T Tuning aligned the rear of the car between runs since it was twitching every time I hit a bump. The guy comes up to me while I'm waiting to run and says "I'm going to align your car right now... I can see it's way off just looking at it... do you have wrenches?" I was like... yeah, should I jack it up for you? He's like no, I can get in there no problem. So he does the right side, and then it was my turn to run. So I go, come back, and he jumps under the left side and does that... lol... cool as hell. Awesome guy. Car was a lot less nervous after that. Still snaps really hard on transitions though so spun out a bunch of times. Going to try to fit the front sway bar tonight, which should fix that.

People were really into the side exhaust. Got a lot more compliments on the sound and not a single person complained it was too quiet this time... lol.

Clutch pedal felt good all night, but fluid turned black again. So I'm pretty much going to say **** it at this point, change the fluid once a week and hope the slave cylinder lives through the season. My friend Andrew found a thread of some guy on here that actually sent his black clutch fluid to a lab to find what the black stuff was... and it turned out to be clutch dust, which was somehow getting into the slave through the seals. So I don't know if anything can even be done about that. And have no clue why it happens on some cars and not others.

I'm visualizing the clutch dust getting on the sides of the slave cylinder piston when it's extended, and then some of the dust gets in under the seal when the piston retracts and mixes with the fluid? I'm not even sure if that's possible with how the slave cylinder is designed. I installed a new one when I put the motor in, so I'm going to find the old one that came with the trans, take it apart, and see if this is possible and if there's some way to stop it. I'm going to get to the bottom of this!

That thing has got one hell of a sound. Were it not for my watching this build, I might think that video fake, or the roar coming from a different car. Keep it up.

Lookin GREAT man! I love the sound, and the car looks like its still balanced and bad ***. I bet that torque makes it easier to drift! Keep up the good work!!!

Yeah, it was frustrating not being able to floor it. I was on 225/40R18 rear tires in the first vid... yeah... that doesn't really work with this car. The second vid is with 235/40 Nitto 555s which felt way better, and you can see the higher speed in that vid. But still can't floor it.

Basically have no grip at all. At one point on Saturday, my right rear exploded coming off the banked turn. I heard a pop, but there was like no difference in grip... lol. So I just kept drifting thinking that it wasn't the tire. I only noticed that it blew a few turns later when the tire popped halfway off the rim and started rubbing the inside of the wheel well. haha. Rim wasn't damaged... yay!

Going to try some 255/35R18 and 265/35. Should definitely be able to mash it more often with those sizes. And hopefully tires will last longer? I went through 12 this weekend... wtf.

Looks like next event will be Hot Import Nights demo in Scranton, PA this Saturday. Blah really need to find a trailer.

Dang, all that with no sway bar!!! Thats really impressive to me for one huge reason. I took mine off of my camaro recently and it completely changed the car. I went from being able to slide it at will with great ease to being afraid to even get sideways from a straight drag launch. Like you said the front tires bite so hard without the front sway bar it makes it really nervous. The on\off throttle also allows the nose to dive in and create so much more throttle off oversteer its crazy. I imagine thats what caused most of your spins.

And all that on 245's???? Man your car will kill it with some 275's on there. Im kinda suprised how quiet it is, then again you didnt really rev to high in the vidz. It sounds quieter than mine and I have mufflers. Its really nice to see a completed project like this and it being used!!!! My hats off to you.

Actually on 225s and 235s... lol.

Had 245s in the first event at upstate NY but not here.

Definitely kind of sketchy with no front bar... found myself aiming at the wall a bit more than I intended on a couple of occasions... but started getting used to it. Will hopefully get it on soon.

Hmm... so what kind of mufflers do you have?

Wow, thats like a bicycle tyre

I have bullets. Straight through, stupid loud, but it sounds great at 7K. Hope to see some good vidz from this coming weekend with a sway bar and 265's then. Good luck to you.

Damn bro! Great vid and damn good drifting!! And your transitions are nassttyyy, so sweet! I'm not running a swaybar either due to clearance issues as well haha.
I know what you're talking about on the tire size deal, i'm just starting drifting with my 5.3l & T56 swapped S13 and all it does it wants to do is spin with anything under a 265 haha.
Are you running a Powered by Max hydraulic e-brake?? I've been contemplating getting one and would be curious as to what you think of it.

Yeah, that's powered by max e-brake, but using the stock e-brake mostly. I have to pull the hydraulic really hard to get it to lock. Going to change the rear pads at some point to see if it gets better.

I got the hydraulic because I used to have to pull the handle so hard to lock that I would lift myself out of my seat (blah... i'm like 140 lbs.). That was with no seat belts, but now with 5-pt harness, I can pull it and lock a lot easier, so just going to keep using that for now until I figure out the hydraulic.

I would recommend just welding an extension on the stock handle if you want to make it easier to pull. This is what's done on a couple of pro cars I've seen. The money for hydraulic could be spent better elsewhere.

Word, thanks for the insight. My stock e-brake doesn't grab at all haha, i tried adjusting the cables a bit but didn't want to overtighten them...maybe i'll try changing the pads as well.
Thanks, and keep up the badass driving/build!

Seperate calipers are baller, but too much time/money all for a hydraulic e-brake.

Munson, make sure your calipers aren't seized first... pretty common for 240 rear calipers to have one or both of the sliders seized.

So Scranton Hot Import Nights demo is definitely happening. Half-naked women, drifting, bunch of ricers... should be a good time as usual. But still have no trailer... so I'm driving there. Crap.

This trailer stuff really sucks. Everything used that I've seen is either way too much (>$5k baller enclosed trailer) or a piece of junk that I wouldn't trust driving down the road at 5mph. And the couple that I've seen on craigslist that were about what I needed were sold like a couple of hours after posting... ****.

But need this soon as I'm planning to go to Canada next weekend for Drift Mania maybe?

Miro I've been looking into stepping up from my 18' 10,000 lb open car trailer to an enclosed so I can stay overnight in it instead of getting a hotel offsite. Where are you finding used enclosed? I can only find new ones.

I'd sell you mine but it would be too heavy for your dad's Durango even before you put your car on it. I think I even had it with me at benz a few times when we were working there. Dale got pissed because I had to park it on the grass behind the trash compactors LOL
