weighed my car today..
its an 84 trans am, with all the body kits off an 88 gta, rims etc. has ttops, subframe connects, a ford 9" with a locker, all the seats, and 3/4 tank of gas.
i was thinking it would be around 3400 since that 9" we put in was so heavy, but i guess i was wrong.. turned out to be 3140 thats without me of coarse.... and i havent even done any weight reductions yet!
i still plan...
4th gen seats
plastic ttops
and a/c removal
as well as some other small things.
seats should be 20... i know the ford 9" is about 100lbs heavier than the stock 10 bolt, but thats a good 100lbs
Yeah that 9" is 100lbs well spent haha.

i just sold a fiberglass hood, they might weigh a few pounds less, but not much....not worth the extra...
i want to keep my car a gta, so the aluminum bumpers wont work, we do have a 4 cly firebird at the junkyard though...anything else rare on it? i know it has a glove box!!
i too need to weigh my car....n i kno that fucken 9 inch is going to kill it for me since it was like 2 times heavier than my stock one
... im guessing 3000 for me too Trending Topics

fiberglass hood felt about the same as stock so i sold it.
have an aluminum ds
no spare or jack
ive got tubular control arms and a drews x member
Metal hood weighing the same as a fiberglass one - no freakin way
& took it home. When I installed it, I weighed myself holding each one of 'em - the difference was around 9.5 to 10 lbs...Still, that's weight saved from the very nose of the car (where it's most advantageous), so it's definitely a worthwhile modification!
