Default my turbo lq4 02 gt build thread

putting lq4 out of 03 2500 with 41k miles on it in my 02 gt. I will be using a t400 built tranny stock stall for now.

The turbo is a MP70 thats pretty much it for now, just trying to get stuff together for the build. Here are a few pics of me shaving the holes under the hood.

Looks like fun.

I am in the process of swapping an lq4 in a 2000 gt

Still gathering up parts but here is what it currently looks like.

I also am selling an ABS delete block if you're interested

I would, but i moved the abs pump to the inner finder well to get it out the way. your setup looks nice, Im still waiting on my engine and all to get here. Everythings supposed to be here this week so we will see.

What tranny are you using, have you gotten to wireing yet looks like you still have alot of the factory ford ecu wires?

I'm pretty sure you can you just need the correct wires, I refuse to use the camaro cluster they are tacky. I would think at most you would have to use the ford sending units.

here are a couple pinouts that were posted.

well i got to work on it for an hour today. I never realized how thick portions of the manifold were. I had to cut a tab off one and my plasma cutter had some issues with it.

Brandon, I am going to be doing the same kind of swap(LQ4 into 01 V6 mustang) have some questions for you; were you able to keep all the factory gauges working?,and what radiator did you use? Thanks, Mark.

tach, oil, volts work. I didnt have to do anything to get the volts to work, oil just use the ford sending unit tach I caught behind cluster. I havent fooled with the speedo at all, I think they make an adapter to go from electric to mechanical.

I used the factory mustang gt radiator and fan, no issues there, Also most say you have to change the K member to aftermarket one, you dont it fits just fine in the factory one, I even fit my 3 1/2 inch down pipe with the stocker. You will need F body oil pan and pick-up the lq4 pan sits to low for my taste.

Anything else I can help you with just pm me, I know i had a hard time getting answers from people when I was doing my swap ill help as much as I can.
