Default First Time at the track with stock 5.3 in 96 s10

well i didnt set any records last night but it was a good baseline
truck is reg cab short box stock 3.73 w/ posi installed engine is stock except for edelbrock carb intake and sanderson headers th350 trans w/ 3000 stall (shift kit is going in this week to wat kind of gain it will give) 26*11.5*16 M/T et streets felt great no issues at all if you cant see this pic the truck ran 14.19 seconds @95.54mph 60ft was louzy(2.17) but didnt spin i just didnt stall it up enough there is definately more in this truck before i hammer it with a 200 shot hehe

nice. i wonder what my s10 will do with a 226/228 cam,tune and 3200 stall. 13s is my goal but 12s with a 200 shot wouldnt hurt. also was that with a tune?

nice. Im doing the exact same build but with a turbo.

how is the low end with the carb intake?

Box had curve 4 chip and carb was out of the box except for 3.5 powervalve to eliminate fat off idle bog cleared right up just pulled a plug about 10 minutes ago and they are a bit black im thinking of backing some secondary jetting down

if its too rich, you'll pick up power when you jet down.

(71 chevy) cant complain about the low end torque but again its not gonna set the world on fire "stock motor" im used to building 9 and 10 second cars for customers i was just fed up with seeing everyone else having all the fun i had to throw something together for myself and dont worry this truck will be qwick soon enough i built this truck to see wat every part is gonna give me for gains. every car i build for clients just gets a bunch of parts and a hopping motor thrown in right off the start and you dont get to see the progression that way.

im gonna put an EGT guage in this week too and im in the middle of building an aluminum rearend girdle hopefully extruded aluminum will be stronger and better looking than cast
