Default kwik performance A/C bracket....feedback

has anyone used the kwik performance a/c compressor bracket that mounts up high on the passenger side? any feedback, nice setup or not worth it? Or has anyone used the Turn Key Engine Supply setup?

I'd love to use it but I'm not paying $200 for a bracket.

Well, I don't have their A/C bracket, but I've seen their stuff up-close-&-personal, & I'd say it's worth it - I'm giving serious thought to it, since trying to re-engineer that stuff myself would take FREAKING HOURS that I don't want to have to deal with...

I'd say that it just depends on what it's worth to you...

We have had great luck with the Kwik Parts and sell them with our kits and they are great guys to deal with.

If you thought $200 was too much for a quality engineered complete kit then you may want to check on the S&P $1200 kit. Not that it is one bit better. My KWiK bracket is tops.

Ditto. Super nice people and it looked better than expected. I had to buy both brackets. Not a great pic but here it is in my car.

Jemo, Are you using the Camaro or Vette Kwik brackets? If they are Vette brackets, have you tried to install the coil covers with the compressor mounted? I heard you had to trim the passenger coil cover some to install the cover and wanted to know how much trimming had to be done.
Thanks

Sorry 55 Chev, I just saw your post.

Yeah, unfortunately, the fuel rail covers are going to need to be trimmed. I'm using the f-body/GTO accessories and have the GTO covers. I was a little bummed but I don't think it's that big of an issue.

Did you get the PS pump too? I noticed on thier site it is called "Type 2" PS steering pump.....anyone have a clue what make / model that is?

If I purchased the brackety, I wanted to try and re-use my f-body pump to save $149, but I don't think that is possible.

I got a F-body motorsports AC retrofit for mine, it's designed for the third generation compressor. Mounts in the same spot - I'm going to adapt that compresssor to my AC system.

These things list for almost $300 and I got it for $150 shipped from a TGO.org member who never installed it...new in the box.

I'll take pics when I get alll my bracketry sorted out

this is not bracket related but since you guys already done the a/c and with appologies for ... I just bought the kiwkper. bracket and have dual elec. fans with the low and high wired, I am trying to do the a/c now, but do I have to add another relay for a fan to come on when the a/c is on? if so where do you get the trigger signal from? because it has to come on and off right? or do I just install and leave the low and high as they are now
alll this is going on in a 84 chevy pu with a trucks 5.3
thanks in advaced and sorry about the

What ECM?....99-02 I believe uses a signal wire from AC to trigger the fans. You just connect high and low fans through the relays as normal, and then connect the AC signal wire to the +12v to your AC clutch, and the ECM does the rest. It would help to know what ECM, so someone can check the pin outs and verify....

To answer 1976CamaroGuy's question about Type II power steering pumps that will work with the KwikPerf brackets, ask your auto parts guy for a pump for a Cavalier or Beretta from about 1990 to 94. Those have a 3/4" shaft and usually sell for less than other similar pumps. You'll need a hose barb to press in where the plastic reservoir used to be and then rig up a new remote reservoir. The smallest diameter pulley would be from an 04-06 5.3 Chevy Trailblazer. Or, you can also re-use the pump that came with your F-body engine by converting it to a remote reservoir.
