Default LS1 Intake, what would it cost me?

I am considering changing my 5.3 to the ls1 intake. How much should I expect to give for the ls1 intake, fuel rails, injectors, and TB?

Parish made 1000rwhp/1000rwtq with a 5.3 intake on a twin turbo 408 and ultimately went bottom 10's at 140mph or so in a 5,000lb+ truck.... AWD Sierra 1500 pickup with 4L80E..... so it isn't that restrictive.

If you don't have height issues with the hood.... maybe just stick with what you have. He also put a 5.3/Z06 cam/valvesprings with T70 turbo in a Ford Fairmont and went 9's at nearly 140mph.

If you have the money do an LS6 intake as they flow more.

Even those aren't really worth it for the hassle of the swap and the money. Most the truck guys stopped the swap years ago as the gains didn't cover the costs.

matt1976 read this

The LS1 and truck are about the same

Note: the SSR90 intake listed is the truck LS2 intake it flow similar to the LS6.

Between $50 and $100 for the intake, injectors and fuel rails, you don't need the throttle body, yours will bolt on. You'll also need injector pluga, since LS1 use the old style plugs

I have heard of/seen some people clearance the waterpump by heating the aluminum where the steel insert is pressed in and been able to rotate the steel piece out of the way. I've also seen precision denting to make it work.

You can just cut the alt bracket a little and move the idler pulley via a relocation kit of make your own.

You can heat and bend the tube or swap to the L92 truck pump it has a 45* outlet

One of the threads on here shows that you can use a longer bolt and move the idler pulley to one of the alternator bracket bolt holes, if the alternator height isn't a problem this would be much cheaper than buying/fabbing a new bracket. In regards to the intakes and their prices, everyone says you can get one from 50-150, however i've yet to see one sell for that low. The last one I saw sell was a bare f-body intake that went for 157.xx+shipping! There is one currently on sale for 125 with 2 days to go, i'm betting it hits atleast $240 before it ends.

Edit** found the link

Its from the LS6 truck intake swap thread on ls1tech

This is by bluecajun5.3

i would also like to add...

is that you don't necessarily need a custom relocation bracket.

what you can do is buy a longer bolt (6 inches long 10mm x 1.5 threads) for the idler pulley, space it out with washers untill it lines up with the rest of accessories. you'll be placing that bolt and pulley in the very top bolt hole on the p/s and alt. bracket. like this...

ahhhh, so that's how that mustang guy did it. Doing this mod with the idler pulley relocate using washers/longer bolt seem to make this swap A LOT cheaper.
