Fuel economy would be one of my goals, I think.
What is the 6th gear ratio? .5? Big drop in RPM. BIG

I used the LS2 injectors because I had to buy the rail and the injectors came on them. I'm not sure if the ly6 injectors will work but I think they will.

Also, does anyone know of a company that retrofits ford 8.8 rear ends on to 4th gen fbodies? All I see are 12 bolts and 9" setups... the reason I ask is that mine is already making noise after I put the 315 drag radials on the back...maybe just low fluid level but I am planning ahead.

I haven't run into a company that does it yet (or at least a sponsor). Check out the S60. You can get them pretty cheap, believe it or not. They're going to be the cheapest $/beast ratio. I love mine, and if I hadn't gotten a driveshaft it would have been about~ $2400 shipped, with all the options (except new backing plates/reluctor rings). I sent them my reluctor rings and backing plates... but wait... you've got a pre-ls1... I'm pretty sure you don't need any extra brake crap.

Eric at MWC can get you a smokin deal. You might be able to go even cheaper if you opt out of the tru-trac (which is the indistructable 35 spline trutrac, not the one's you hear problems out of). Strange has an equevelant to the trac-lock (dodge) that I think would make it even cheaper.

where did find the motor? was it from an auto recycler? if so, which one. i looked at several different ones recently, just for grins, and couldn't find any. i know inventory for those places changes daily, i'm just curious.

Very nice, you guys did a great job. Where did you find the motor at, a wrecking yard? I have a built LQ9 and love it.

www.alldatadiy.com

I accidentally bought the subscription for a 2008 Silverado New Style Pickup, but the pinouts ended up being the same. Alldata is an awesome service... worth every penny!

The motor was found at the S&W Automotive salvage yard in Lithonia, GA. That has to be the most organized, and best, salvage yard I've ever seen.

I've been driving the car to work, so it works great... I usually let the motor warm up a bit before flogging it since it is really cold out. I'm extremely happy with this swap and am going to try to get dyno numbers soon; both baseline and tuned (completely untuned right now).

the car is a real head-turner... I'm going to post new videos since the new paint job went on. Only problem is I think it's about time for a fuel pump... it is getting kinda noisy.

Cool thanks. Any issues with the t56 and the e38? How did you go about the initial tune?

We just used HPtuners. Pillagenburn has been looking around at getting somebody to tune it. I might take a stab at it at some point since I've tuned Haltechs before. I just don't have a lot of time with all the other wiring projects I'm working on right now.

The speedo is still and issue. We could have used an adapter or different trigger wheel to fix it, but we're looking for an ecu solution to this. This will make the finished product a bit cleaner, and will be one less thing to buy.

Try finding the Table for the Speedo in the tune and change the 4000 to 1700..that is what worked for me.

We've played with all the parameters. This ecu seems to limit a lot of this. If I could tell the ecu that the wheels were 7inches tall, that would do the trick. The ecu is locking out certain parameters entirely. We're guessing because manual transmission is not supported on this particular GM operating system. Technically, the trigger input and outputs are configured for the ABS on the silverado. In Vettes, the pins are for the speed sensor.

Like I say, we're looking for an ecu solution to this. It will end up much cleaner. Failing that, we might try the older trigger wheel.

I have an aftermarket speedo so thats not a concern for me. All I was worried about is the way the VVT/timing/fuel etc behaves without input from the transmission or torque management tables and? Havent even looked at one yet so not sure what all i will need to do.

On another note what did you guys do for your accessory drive? I was thinking about using the stock LS1 accessory drive and spacing out the water pump and I "think" theres enough lip left on the LS1 water pump hub to allow the belt to run on it safely. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

I found a great link on the accessory drive attached below but im still very curious about the tuning so an update with anything you find would be very helpful and appreciated
