[QUOTE=gofastwclass;15110149]I've seen that. I suggest putting the frame on a frame machine before paint. We've got a guy locally that does ours, then we paint or powder coat it. We also tell him NOT to make any relief cuts for any tweaks he needs.
Good advice! I have all the factory frame measurements but having a frame shop check it over, makes a lot of sense.

Thank you for the compliments!
They share a somewhat similar frame. I had 2 60' hardtops and 1 four door hardtop fleetwood that I parted out a couple weeks ago. One was an Eldorado but was stripped even before I got it. The caddies front suspension has different control arms crossmember and rear end. Huge front engine bay though.

I'm boxing in the bumper nuts and rad support nut so I won't be able to get a back wrench in there. I welded 1/2 nuts down and built a cage nut for the rad support.

Question for you - with all this reinforcement and thick medal going on the frame - wouldn't have been easier to go with an aftermarket frame?
I see a ton of metal and work - not sure on what the cost of modifying this frame vs and aftermarket frame would be.

Not sure? 4x8 sheet, sheilding gas, wire, odds and ends of metal would most likey be the same as shipping frame up from the US.
I think next time, it won't be an X frame car that's for sure.....

I'm digging that tan Caddy. Imagine a Art Morrison chassis and a turbo LSx427

It would have been a bad *** car for sure. It is/was an Eldorado, one of 1075 made. It was stripped to almost nothing even before I got it. I guess it makes the others worth more that another is gone?? sad really.
