Wooo the man switch!

Vette ended up putting down 450 to the rear tire.

Not bad for using all GM parts - previous chassis dyno was 375 to the rear.

My GF had a bunch of girls over last night, so I spent som time working on my taillights. For the last two years my taillights have been very temperamental, and with the swap to LED headlights I figured a swap to LED tails was in order. The cheapest set of LED taillights for my car are over 100....and kind of look cheezy. I found these LED panels on ebay for around $2 ea shipped...these suckers are bright!

using a 12x12 sheet of ABS plastic off of amazon, I made brackets.

The panels were perfect size for the housing.

I used a hole saw to make grommets for the wires and to seal the housing

Winning.

I had initially made a panel that put the panels really close to the stock lens, and you could count the LEDS using bright spots, setting them back deeper in the housing gave it a much better look IMO

What diff are you running ?? the 10 bolt ???, if so what axles are you using ??? ,

The tail lights look great but I am a little concerned about the cheetah print fitted bed sheet, lol!!! Great job on the LED's they are surely brighter than the incandescent bulbs.

No cutting of the tunnel, I had to dimple the pass side a litter to clear the trans lines, the 4l80 fit fine. It seemed the 80 was a better fit.

I am running a 8.5" 10 bolt out of a 73 nova (3.73 with eaton posi). Strange axles.

Agreed! I will have to look into this after the AutoFair this weekend. I may end up finding a set down there, who knows. Did you wire directly to a 12v source?

My car needs some shakedown to make sure all is well with the new trans/drive-shaft, but its "ready". Been very busy with getting the new garage underway, the lumber arrives next Thursday, trusses next Monday. Garage doors ordered but the siding that I had gotten township planning approval for had the state distributor go out of business last fall. The siding is still made, I just am working out how to get it, for a reasonable price and level of headache. First world problems, I know. Its gonna be

Hows the new cam feeling? You long hauling?

I missed your question, Yea, I wired directly to the turn/brake factory 12V wires. The signal wires power the delay relay, so no additional wires needed to be run.

Thats a good first world problem to have!

The LS9 cam - I lost a bit of low end when cruising around the freeway - but I gained a bunch more power on the top end.

I will be at Charlotte - and maybe Knoxville. I'll contact you on FB.

Yes, I registered for it in December, and hotel rooms have been booked for a few months, 21 people and 18 cars in my crew. It will be tight for me to be ready, I found metal (looks like aluminum) in the fluid of the new trans. A lot of it. The converter is on its way to circle D for a cut/clean/inspection, and the trans s going back to the builder in Chicago. Don't know what happened yet, but both guys are taking care of it, that is good, but a bummer I'm out the cost of shipping the converter, 12 more quarts of Mobile 1 trans fluid, driving to chicago and buying a new trans cooler/and doing a line flush.

I am hoping the car will be back in good health by the 16th.

Hey Matt I think your car is in the new Hot Rod on page 23. That might even be Bonecrrusher beside you. It is the 0714 edition.

Yea, I had heard about it but of course my issue isn't in yet! It is my car,and its actually my dad in his Z06, we were racing in Bowling green at the time.

Spent the day driving out to my builder, tearing down the trans with him, finding nothing wrong, and cleaning and reassembling the trans. My Converter should arrive at Circle D on Tuesday, interested to see what they find. I looked at every part in the trans and they looked perfect.. My builder is off the hook!

Did you flush the system before the new trans was installed?

yes, but now I am just replacing the trans cooler to be sure. There will be no chance for possible contamination now. Although I doubt there was metal in the cooler

It would really put your mind at ease if there was some sign of wear or something in the tranny. Hopefully the cooler was the culprit. Really sucks having to repeat that process over. Best of luck to you.
