My 67 camar0 LS1/4l60 swap thread

For the linkage your going to need a 69 6 cyl pedal (its a cable style) or the billet lokar one (bolts right in) and in either case get the lokar universal LS throttle cable.. TC-1000LS1
My exhaust is a standard magnaflow header back system for 69 camaros, and I fabbed up mid pipes using two stainless mandrel bends and a flex pipe(really helps keep the headers/collectors from leaking. In the drivers side pipe i added a bung for a wideband when i'm tuning.

I am building a ground up 69 Convertible with a bunch of upgrades including all DSE rear suspension(4 link w/coil overs) and front subframe, baer brakes LS1 and 460 auto trans. I need a complete accelerator linkage, and exhaust system.
Where do I get these parts. Do I weld up a complete exhaust from straight tube of would you just take it to a shop? What size pipes, stock motor now but will be upgaded later, touring car for summer trips and cruise ins.
Thanks

Its a magnuson TVS2300 kit for a 2004 GTO some small mods and tweaking to fit the 67, but it mostly bolted right up. I have a spectre tank that i got from rockauto. I replaced the factory supplied in tank pump with a walbro 255. Hope it helps.

haven't had it on the track after I installed the blower, before it was running mid to low 13's, my 60' times sucked (235/65/15's might have somthing to do with it) 13.3 @105 is prob my average when i was running N/A.. and it was HOT and humid when I ran, numbers posted are un-corrected. I am hoping for low 12's @115 or better when i go back, although traction is my biggest issue, but its a hoot on the street.

I'm thinking about running some 17s (I am swapping to LS1 camaro brakes and need the room) but I dont know the style. I like the rocket racing booster.. but some forge lines or fiske's would be sweet. The ss wheels were just for mock-up... never bolted to the car, not even close on the offset.
Here is my build!

Let me start by saying thanks to 67rsss his build thread has helped me more than he will ever know, and Many of his tricks were used in my build. Build started last october and is almost done, Posts are lifted from another forum I'm on, which is why posts a week later are posted on the same date ect...
So after having a blast on powertour this summer I began planning a "more appropriate" car for next year. I Have old cars, but none that would be good for a week of highway and late night sheninagans.
The 67 camaro has a fresh 327 4bbl but it has a powerglide. Looking at the net I found that 200-4R's are a pretty popular swap. But for a performance trans, crossmember and misc parts it was looking to be $2300 for the swap. I was thinking this would be the best option to gain some "smoke-em" ability and long legs for the highway. But as fate would have it I stumbled across a 50K LS1 4L60E on craigslist that I could drive before I bought. So the project has taken a twist..
327 ready to say good bye!
2000 camaro SS engine/ trans
Changing the manual steering box to a quick ratio power unit for a 91 Z28
And new power disk brakes, 4 wheel manual drum wasn't cutting it!
Street and performance modified oil pan
New oil pickup to fit the new pan
New pan and billet adapter mount plates installed
