Default Where to get colored wire for automotive uses??

So im looking for a place to buy wire for lots of different things on my swap from wiring in gauges, lights, etc. I just need a place to buy a set of wire in the same gauge but with a few different colors. I know harbor frieght sells a set but most of them are in different gauges...

Figured this would be a good section to post in as i would assume plenty of people in here have needed the same thing...

I've done a quick search on ebay with no luck and google isnt helping me out much either...

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Jegs, Summit, local auto parts stores all carry wire. Some guys buy house wire at Homers, but that stuff is substandard for auto use.

I grabbed a harness out of a car in a pick and pull. Got two buckets of wires and another full of relays.

Default Colored wires

When I parted out a 99 SS, I removed all of the wiring including the body harness. There is a lot of wire in one car! When the time came to mod the engine harness and adapt to my project car, I had a supply of wire in factory colors and different sizes. Many pieces were more than long enough for what I needed. Maybe a trip to the boneyard for the wiring out of a late model GM would give you what you need for very little money. You'll spend a fortune for all the colors and different sizes if buying by the coil.

You wont go wrong with 18ga. A rare few wires need to be bigger (power dist, main grounds, fuel pump etc). 85% of the wires in the car are 20-22ga

Slightly pricer, but not that much more. Slimmer selection, but they offer 100 foot rolls, which makes it nice, since it takes a long time to use some of the 500 footers. good find

Along the same line of thought, check this out - thirty-foot rolls, with ten different colors available (incl. red, black, pink & orange). Not advocating for one or the other, just throwing it out there as another option for swappers...
