Default Another LS1 E36 BMW swap

Well I finally decided to make a screen name here too since I am sure I will be asking plenty of LSx motor questions in the next 6 or so months.
a buddy of mine is building the LS1 E36 while I am stuck at the sand box. But I try to do as much as I possibly can here in Iraq so I can be as involved with the build as I can. I would have done it myself later but I do not have the shop space or the time being military to do this project on my own.
Specs on the motor and tranny.

SLP short throw shifter
all the ls1 free mods are done
Ram Stage 3 clutch.
Patriot Stage Two Head & Cam pkg.
LS6 style heads with 59cc combustion chambers, 225cc intake/83cc exhaust runners and 2.02" intake/1.57" exhaust valves. The cam has a 228°/224° duration at .050", .591"/.583" lift, 112° lobe separation and 2,000-7,000 RPM power band
V-Grove Plugs
8mm wires.

Supposedly 420+RWHP
around 25000 miles on motor and tranny

ok pic time.

The donor

Out of the car

Well the story I got was some guy on the east coast had it as his pride and joy and sold it for whatever reason at 23000 miles. Guy I bought the motor from bought the camaro from that guy and took it to a shop in indiana to get some minor work done to the front bumper. Upon driving it back he lost control and got side swiped by a 18 wheeler. Had it for around 2000 miles and three months before he wrecked it and put the motor up for sale. Kind of a early and sad ending for the car but at least the motor will live on in my beast.

People, especailly people buying a BMW, seem to have a hard time grasping what is meant by a "rolling chassis"

Eventually I will probably part it out when I need the space.

There we go. Looks good. Will definitely be sweet when you get done. The camaro's damage doesn't look much more than cosmetic.. Could fix that and sell it as a roller..

Hahahaha!!!! I've had the same problem with Cadillac people.
Sorry, the last sentence strikes my demented mind as funny.

I liked your black car because it was a 2 door, but I understand your motives.
