"A glittering jewel of colossal FAIL"!! RX7 swap gone wrong!!
This is taken from another board, but here are the cliffs
Custemer pays local 'import' shop to swap an LS6 his FD (turns out, they put an LS1 in), for the tune of $14k. A sponcer of the V8RX7fourm is also local and offers the shop his help, but they turn it down. A year and a half later, they're still not done, so the owner takes it to the sponcer to finish. Turns out to be a death trap, literally.
The story and tons of pics in the link.

Here's a few highlights
Sponcer looks like he was in for more than he bargained, but it looks like he fixed it

There is a lot of just plain lazy/ retarded **** there. Typical flux core welds. I gotta say there are parts of my car that are just as ugly but functionally and safety wise there is 100% difference. I have used self tappers to mount things before that arent load bearing at all, but things like the obvious oil leak onto the header and the worm gear clamps on the fuel lines are just plain stupid and deff gonna create a fire. Most hillbilly builders dont even know about fuel injector clamps. When I got my Rx7 from a field in Maine after a life of circle track racing the engine entire fuel system was worm gear clamps.
Ls1 wiring can get UGLY quick though. That I can tell you for sure. I had to go through my harness a couple times to look for loose/ crushed connections and once you pull all the insulation off and your digging through the harness getting it to look great agian is hard even after you wrap it all back up.

The guy repairing it prob has done more ls1 rx7 swaps than anyone else on the planet other than maybe hinson super cars.
So hes the best when it comes to this stuff and happens to be a nice guy too. I still dont know if I'de want to touch a car like that though just because if something happens someone could still say you did the work on it (even if it was fixing the BS)
