Thanks a bunch guys. That means a lot coming from the two of you. Both of your threads/posts have been helpful and inspirational to me, especially speedtigger's stuff in the carb'd section. Always good stuff.

Thanks. Timing (all ignition functions actually) are controlled by an MSD 6LS box. The box allows you to create your own timing curve and set other parameters like a low level rev limit, max rev limit, and timing retard to name a few. Do you have a build thread I can check out?

I really have to give credit to my son. He took most of the photos for me while my shaking hands tried to video with a hand-held. The camera is a Sony A200 DSLR 10.2mp set on a Auto, 300mm lens(most shots), 18-50 for the close ups.

not yet just wanted to know if you used chips and map sensor or locked timing so it would be more consistant. my build will be ultimate budget. lol have been gathering parts since last august. just set short block in last night to check all clearences. stock oil pan sets a little low. going to put play doe on bottom of pan and bounce car to measure. only other place that hit was right inner tie rod end. probably going to cut corner of pan and reshape to clear. sorry such a long rant, but doing this in older cars is addicting. using a 04 lq4. thanks for all your detailed build. again looks great!

Sorry....now I get what you were asking...LOL. I don't use the MSD chips. I built my own timing curve with the software that comes with the box. I did play with the MAP sensor to add more timing in at high vacuum but I have the timing locked now with the MAP table zero'd out. I don't want any unexpected timing finding its way into the mix on nitrous. Thanks for the compliments. Let me know when you start a thread. You're right.....it is addicting.
