Default Finally Running

Finally finished my 6.0L conversion into my '71 Nova, got it done 2 days before I left for the Car Craft Show. Was a last minute thrash when I found out the short block I purchased 2 years before for the build had a crack in it. Thanks to Schwanke Engines for tracking down a new block for me, rebuilt it and had it running in 6 days. Car has a complete Heidts front suspension, TKO 600, and a 9". Looking forward to getting it on the dyno as soon as I get a few miles on it.Finally Running-100_2798.jpg

I know you can move the coils but just out of curiosity what did you do with them?

Probly behind the engine mounted to the head. There are kits for this, and its a fairly easy mod if you got room between the engine and firewall.

The motor is a stock 6.0L shortblock, Comp Cams 222/230 .597/.600 112LSA+2, L92 heads, LS3 Intake. Hooker 1 3/4" LT's.

There is no room behind the motor, there is only 1/2" between the RS head and the firewall. The coils and the computer are mounted under the dash. Had to sacrafice the glove box. Access to what I need to through the glove box door.

Plan on taking it to the dyno, I'll post some video and numbers after I have it done.

I believe the color is called Marina Blue. I plan on finishing the interior and body this winter. The body so far is the original paint. Found the car on Ebay 3 years ago, 1 owner, central Califorina, absolutely no rust anywhere on the car!

Currently working on a ly6/tko 600 swap for my 71' Nova and was curious what motor mounts you went with? As well as bellhousing, trans crossmember and if you went w/ mech or hydraulic clutch linkage? Great looking car btw, any interior pics?

Very very clean. That looks dynomite.

How did you route your plugwires through the firewall? Did you use isolators of some kind or just grommets?

Mark, started with one of your harnesses, had Speartech add knock sensors, O2 sensors, fans, and VSS pickup.

I made my own adaptors from 3/8" plates, set the motor back as far as I could, Energy Suspension mounts without the backing plates. I bought my TKO 600 as a kit from Kiesler, had EVERYTHING with it, bell housing, clutch, cross member and I bought the hydraulic clutch also. Great kit! Posted only interior shot I have, going to get the interior done this winter.

I did use wire seperators from Taylor, mounted them to a bracket I made right where they passed through the floor.
