I wanted to add more clamps, but I don't have any with big enough throats to do more than around the perimeter. I thought I would squeeze one through the fan opening, but it just didn't have the reach needed so I didn't bother cutting my wood form to allow access. The last flange bend I made isn't 100% perpendicular due to lack of clamping at the center, but once installed the slight bow goes away and you'd never know the difference.

This has given me some confidence so I may try doing something more complicated for my air box. I'm not sure yet what style I want to build.

Not really an update, but since we bought a new home, I spent a day getting the Nova into a rolling state, slapped on the sheet metal with a few bolts, and zip-tied everything up so it could be moved. Pushed her out into the street and called AAA for a tow.

It's been way too long since I've seen it on all fours from more than 3 ft away. Here's a look from the side.

We are all moved in now and working on home renovation projects so I expect she will continue to collect rust and dust most of this year.

Thanks guys! The new place is a bit of a fixer. It has a 3 car garage, but at the moment it's full of boxes from the move. The Nova is parked outside under a cover in the driveway, but I will be working on prepping space for it soon. Fortunately we have good weather through the summer and fall, but I need to get it inside. The garage needs a lot of work. It has three single-wide doors which are the old style heavy wood with spring/hinge. One of the doors won't open because the spring is missing and the hinge itself is badly bent. There are only maybe four or five electrical outlets in the whole garage. One corner is occupied by pool equipment (pump and large filter). The ceiling is not very high and there is a flat roof. It does have more room than my last garage, but the usable wall space is limited and the lack of overhead storage sucks. Also my wife wants to park her car in the center bay, so that leaves me with the split equivalent of my old garage for floorspace. I can't complain too much - it just needs work to make it what I want.

At the moment my attention is on renovating a side room into a studio so we can rent it out. I hope to have that done in a couple weeks so I can put my spare time into organizing the garage enough to work on the car again.

Garage? Really? I don't remember the vinyl top, but that car would look great with some dog dish hub caps on steelies. Congrats on the new house, btw.

Snapped some photos of her today, just because. A layer of dust is collecting while I work on my new house and take care of more urgent things. I have kept it covered, but I take the cover off about once or twice a week to look at it for a few minutes before I head in after work for honeydos and family time.

Looks good! I know that feeling of honey do's and family time. The project car will get done in due time my friend. Now get that garage cleaned up and park that nova indoors, it might be raining again real soon... Lol

Not yet. I resigned myself to no progress for the first year in our new home. I'll be back on it pretty soon though.

Clearly the Nova hasn't been a priority over the last year plus! But in the last couple of months, the garage has moved up on the priority list. I laid a few sheets of plywood in our attic to move storage out. We had a series of yard sales, donation pickups, and craigslist sales to get rid of stuff we didn't need. Furniture was moved. Crap was paired down and finally I ended up with 15'W x 20'D of empty floor to call home for the Nova, workbench, and tools. I scrubbed out some oil stains, wired a pair of 8ft florescents (4x T8s each), and called some neighbors over Labor Day weekend to help push her in. Finally she's inside!

I've got a bit of work to do organizing the shop, then I can't wait to get back to it!

This is one of the best updates you can give! A legit and constantly-evolving (for the better) workspace is essential to a fun and productive wrenching experience!
