I am just trying to gauge things using your car as an example. So with your car weighing less than mine and my car with a few more horsepower it looks like a wash between the two. My only weight reduction will be the skinnies up front and what ever the difference in the rear tires will be with the Hoosier's on the back if any difference.
However if my friend drives the car that is a 100 pound reduction. Problem is he is NHRA certified and I don't have a cage. He may not want to risk things if my car should dip into the tens.
Edit: The first scale I went to the car weighed 3900 pounds. It took awhile for me to figure out they weighed me when I was still in the car. So with out the jack, spare tire, etc that would put me at 3840. 1/4 tank of gas maybe around 3800 with me driving. With my friend 3700.
Your car has the long runner EFI intake too. So your power band will be much wider and stronger through the midrange. That should help significantly. With your 6L80 and such, you would probably have an easier time comparing your performance to the new 5th gen Camaros.
The 65 has got itself another upgrade. I installed one of Cam Motion's new Low Lash Solid Roller Camshafts. I am very pleased with the results. The car's idle sound great, the power is better and best of all it has less valve noise than the old hydraulic. Here is a link to the thread for the cam install:
I have to agree. A well set-up and thought out combination. Congratulations. I will be lucky to get into the low 11's and I have 63 more cubes than you.
Well, after much internal debate, I chose to put some bars in the car this week. If I wanted to continue to race NMCA, it had to be done. Here are some pics of the progress:
