Great thread. For what its worth, I am running a stock C6 Z06 (LS7) cam in my L92. The engine is stock except for an LS3 intake, throttle body, dual valve springs, and Edelbrock headers. It put down 418RWPH through a Richmond 6spd and a 12 bolt rear.
My point is that if you go with the L97 heads down the line, I wouldn't run a crazy cam. Maybe give the LS7 cam a try.

my old ls1 notch was 2550 without me in it with a 6 spd and poly buckets, full interior otherwise, all tubular front end, 8.8 rear, 17" 96 GT rims all around, heat but no ac, power everything. i got it lighter with draglites and removing the sound deadening and a few other things but never reweighed the car. they can get LIGHT!!!
awesome car man!!

So what is the stock internal record ?
I have a 2nd ge. Rx-7 that will be employing the same setup: 2006 lq4 - Vic jr with a 750, 1 7/8" headers.
My car weighs 2250 with no driver and has a 9" with 4.56s on 295/65/15 DRs. I also have a set of 31/10.5Ws for it.
Any speculation on et?

without trying to jack the thread and trying to remember it all, the 1 thing i did that wasnt typical was someone on a stang site made a few c/m tube front bumper supports which shaved nearly 30 lbs by itself but other than that, poly buckets w/aluminum brackets, kept rear seat (got 2 boys ), no rollbar yet, stock gas tank, heat but no a/c, ls1 aluminum block with 6spd, grant wheel, scraped sound deadening, light weight carpet, and that MAY have actually been with the skinnies and slicks, not the 17's. I had it weighed at a certified CAT scale off the interstate at a truck stop btw. oh, fiberglass hood and no front sway bar too. I think that's about it really. 8.8 had a spool too. Just little odds and ends here and there and it added up pretty good. car was light as hell!! No clue why a notch would be 2860 LBS unless you haven't tried lightening it at all or have an iron block. But even that is not too bad compared to these f-bodies. One day i'd love to have an lsx notch again!!

I had a 93 Coupe 4 cylinder car with stock k member and a carbed 347 and it weighed 3040 with me in it. My 89 coupe had a upr complete k member kit in the front and was a 5.0 car and it weighed 3060 with a 410 W in it. 4 cylinder cars are lighter b/c of the brakes and stuff like that. I'm curious what this car is gonna run in the 1/4. I'd say 10.40-50's. Its hauling *** for what it is for sure
