Chevelle Hooker swap headers, hitting floor?
I just recieved a set of Hooker Chevelle swap headers part number 2289-1HKR, they are new/used. My problem is they are hitting to floor board. I dont have a trans in the car so I can tilt the engine wherever I need to, and to get them to fit the engine has to be atleast at a 8* angle (passenger side hits way before the drivers side, and the engine is level side to side). My set-up isnt much different than a lot of people that I see using these headers, early BRP style mounts, energy suspension motor mounts with the load plate and a 3/16" plate under the frame stands. The motor is also moved back to clear the f-body oil pan, but from looking at it that doesnt really play a role due to the angle of the collector tube hitting the floor. Any suggestions other than chopping up the headers?

I would look into two areas.. 1) the engine maybe mounted Higher and is causing the tilt problem, or 2) the Headers are defective. Where did you get them from ?
Got any pictures of then engine mounts with the engine sitting in the frame ?
What part number are you using for the Energy Suspension mounts (Short/wide or the Tall/Narrow) ?

I am using the short and wide mounts on short and side stands with the what equals out to a 1/4" spacer on each side for tie rod clearance. I bought them new/used off ebay, the guy said he used them for mock up only and other than some scratches in the cermic coating they do look new. I am almost thinking they are LS1 F-body headers from the way they fit though, isnt this the problem with those headers in the Chevelle?

Not on the headers, but the paper that came with them had the part number listed above that's says these are the proper ones. I think stealth used these so I'll look up his tread later to see if he had any fitment issues.
