Thanks for the kind words Tony, but I didn't do anything that I'm sure you wouldn't have done for me if the tables were turned. I'm just glad to hear you got her fully back on her feet!

Guys, this car is FAST! Tony and I did a little playing on the street. I was driving my 99 TA that goes low 11's. Tony had four people in his car to my two people, and when I jumped on it from a roll it looked like I had his car on a tow strap! He stayed mere feet off my bumper. I'm sure he wasn't even fully into it.....otherwise he would have rear-ended me. My guess is this is a high ten second car with the right traction conditions!

Gary I am hoping she can get to a mid 11 pass and I would be stoked. My next purchase is a set of slicks or real good dual purpose tires. I actually had too much fun on the strip! I have made out a list in my head of what my next purchases will be. Tires first, nitrous second along with a tune and HP Tuners so I can swap files from the N/A to the nitrous tune. 99% of the time this car will be on the street so no sense in dedicating this car for the strip. Of course this will take some time as my Camaro fund has dwindled down to almost 0! Thanks again Gary for being a stand up guy!

Just a little update. I decided to buy some slicks. I ended up with some Hoosier 26x9x15's since I have limited space with a 15" wheel. I am hoping to get my trailer set up for my car in the next few weeks and during that time have these mounted. I figure if I am going to try and send her down the track I might as well give it all she has. Hopefully I can hook and make a few decent runs. Oh yeah I bought a Joes racing pressure gauge since my Walmart tire gauge is probably inaccurate.

T Snow, I am finally making progress on my 68 Camaro/LS-1 swap and plan to buy the fuel tank today. I want to go with the Tanks Inc set up from Leadmine products and just wanted to make sure you haven't had any issues since installing your Tanks setup.

Glad to hear you are making progress on your swap! You have a thread started yet? Most of the threads I follow are completed projects and rarely have any updates(like mine)! I need a few good threads to follow along with to occupy some slow times, how about it?

No issues other than the fuel pump coming unplugged from the hose on the hanger. If you plan on buying the hanger with the pump already installed from Tanks Inc. you will be fine. If you decide to hang your own pump, email me and I will give you the skinny. Tanks Inc. failed to include the proper instructions with my hanger so I improvised. Of course I was wrong and had bad results. Other than that she works flawlessly! Money well spent!!! Wish I could say that about a dozen other items I bought for this swap.

I will get the pump that comes with the tank, so I should be good. Glad to hear the tank is working out. I will order mine today or tomorrow.
I have a thread started, so I will try to update it today or tomorrow. I have been doing mostly rust repair for areas that I have access to with the subframe and rear out of the car. I am just now starting to buy parts for the swap. Thanks for the quick answer.

Hey Tony, I added a link to my build on my signature. Not much there yet.
I have been sequestered (Leave without pay) all this week, so I made a lot of progress over the last 6 days.

Beautiful car.
Does your track have any different tech rules when you run slicks ? Especially with a manual trans ?
Driveshaft loop, SFI bellhousing etc ?

Thanks!
I don't think so. I will find out in a few weeks. I am thinking that beyond 7.99 you have to have a cage. I will probably use caution and just run the 330ft as Gary(GC99TA) suggested until I can hook up and go for the gold! I figure at that point it will be time to go anyways. These friggin tires are soft!!! Hopefully they will aide in traction. I do have a loop but a stock bell housing.

It will probably help from spinning but will kill my 60 foot times. I know in the 1/4 it is almost perfect as I am hitting the rev limiter across the line in third with a 26 inch tall tire.

I think it is set at 6,850rpms IIRC. I have the shift light set at 6,500 to allow for my slow *** to shift!

Don't feel bad. I do the same thing with the Camaro on the spray. Shift light is 500 rpm below the limiter.....and its an auto!

When I turn 50 I will probably have to set it at 4,000 to prevent an over-rev condition, lol! What happened to your sig?
