Hey man, just out of curiosity did you ever get an asphalt type smell in the hotter months? Or did it go unnoticed?

Just finished this entire build (took about a week haha) and had to go back and ask this question.

Thanks,

Sam

I have never noticed any type of asphalt smell. The only time I would think that would become an issue is if the exhaust was run to close to the floor pan. Now that you have mentioned it, I will probably start to smell asphalt, lol. So far so good on the roofing material.

It's funny, all of the positive reviews for that product are from automotive applications. A friend of mine used it on a Cuda build and was happy with it.

Yes sir! It has been a little laid back here concerning the Camaro. Not much to report. I see you are straying away from the new body to enjoy the new turbo! Can't say I blame ya, she sounds fun.

Tony, I just went back through your thread because I remember you had trouble bleeding the. Well I am having the same issue. Unfortunately, when I set up my clutch linkage, I made sure that the rod was all the way back with pedal fully raised. Just to make sure, I removed the bumper and verified that the pedal is coming all the way back but I can't seem to get the air out. I am trying to gravity bleed it as we speak, but I may have to use your trick of bench bleeding the master with the reservior and line attached.

A friend of mine has begged me to try and reverse bleed the next time I have an issue with hydraulics. He uses a regular oil squirt gun and a short length of hose to force brake fluid back through the entire system. This forces the air back to the reservoir. Sort of makes sense if you think about the direction air wants to travel. Hopefully the gravity bleed will do the trick. Are you using a remote bleeder hose?

Yes I have a bleeder hose and I have the end mounted on the firewall right at the level of the reservoir. Gravity bleeding might work if I give it a month. I like your idea of forcing it back the other way, but I would need a to acquire a squirt gun. Do you have any details on that?

Tony, what happened to you. I finished my swap and of all people, I wanted your opinions on the finished product.

I can vouch that he's still alive. We went to LS Fest together this year and texted a bit around Christmas but I don't think he's on here much anymore.

hello,

I have a 1971 240z which im planning to put a LQ4 and T56 combo. At the moment im going to order the clutch kit and I should be able to mate the transmission and the engine. And my next step is to buy the intake set-up, I was wondering if your LS3 intake combo will clear truck accessories. I'm trying to keep truck accessories to reduce cost of the swap.

Thanks for your input.
