IRS In 1st Gen camaro SOMEONE PLEASE HELP
hey guy im new on this forum and I really want to put an IRS in my 68 camaro and I know a guy by the name of Wayne Due used to sell bolt in brackets for a c4 rear and as far as I know hes long gone out of business but im thinking there has to be someone else that fabs the same type of kits because thoses cars are so popular, Any help would be greatly appreciated,an links to kits or even if you've done one in the past or have an old kit for sale,I know they sell a complete rear for 8000 but I can practically buy another whole car for that so thats really outta my budget thanks again

There are better rear end kits out there than the IRS, I know the IRS is cool, but there no way to run tail pipes, I was looking in to do it but, I had to have tailpipes,
DSE Quadra Link, Alston G link, are a few,

Why not just run the tailpipes under the differential as designed in the C4. There was the same issue with the IRS I have in my 4th gen however proper installation with running the pipes under and its just as good as any other option.
I'm not sure of anyone who currently does it though, a local shop with some experience in fabrication should be able to do it pretty easily for you.

Oh so your deciding to ride off into the great beyond of handling greatness, chekc out my thread on pro-touring
im fabing up my 68 camaro to run IRS s14 240sx suspension. Gauranteed to outperform all the BS 4 link garbage everyone is running. Same wheelbase and length as 68 camaro, just need to fab mount boxes to support rear subframe.

Thats cool, I wish there was more out there before, I was really wanting to do that swap,
and this all must be top secret because of all the years I've been on different fourms, I've never seen this or heard about it,

It's a shame that Wayne Due folded up (the designs I believe were bought up by Art Morrison), but that happens to a lot of them. 21st Century was doing C5 front and rear stuff for the 1st gen f-bodies, with out the transaxle, but they went under also.
There are companies that make brackets, all for other cars though...55 chevys, trucks, fords, rods, etc... If you have a 1st gen, and really look around you can probably still find a wayne due kit, but it's hard.
