Default Another 1st Gen/LS T56 Swap.

I had started a thread in the other location for 67-02 Camaro's, but after thinking about it awhile. I think it belongs here since I am going LS/T56 in my '68 Camaro. I will just link it here and quit posting in that thread and build on this thread.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/chevrolet...bodacious.html

Also picked up my LS t-56 today.
I am currently trying to sell my LT1 T-56. I can't post it in this site, because I don't have the required post count.

My son started pulling the motor in the '98 while I put the subframe back into the '68. Now she is waiting for a test fit of her next engine and trans.

He got all of the top stuff disconnected, tomorrow he can move underneath.

My funds have me sticking with the stock sub for awhile. Yes, the car was Matador LOL. It is funny when you see a build with the red, I have seen a few and they all look like the same car because of the red.

QUOTE]I am planning on parting it out. Or selling as a roller if given the right offer. What do you need, just the box? Or the guts also?

Spent yesterday taking out all of the wiring harnesses from my donor car. Didn't cut any wires except the ones going from interior light over the rear seat to hatch. It is amazing how much wiring was in that car. My plan is to reuse as much as I can from the donor.

Time to start sorting through all of the wiring. This is just the body harness and the one under the hood...not including the one on the engine for the ecu.
Has anyone adapted these harnesses into their cars? I am curious how you did it if you did. I have heard of people using the body harness and controller. I am wondering if anyone adapted the other harness for relays, fuses and lights.

Took some time off of the swap to shave the drip rails.
I have wanted to shave the drip rails and flush the glass. I am now finally getting time to do that. Here are some before during and after shots. Still need to do a lot of filler welding and grinding, but you get the idea.

I don't always like to advertise. So, I milled off the Summit off the rear diff cover and the plan is to sand blast it like people do with windows. But, for me. I am planning on painting the area, and stenciling Bodacious on it (Finally my wife's cricket will be handy). Then sand blast the area, when I pull the stencilled letters off, the painted lettering will show. That is the plan anyway.

Also Started on my motor mounts. I am about 1/2 the way there on it.

Don't worry. I didn't use the motor mount to drill the holes. I was double checking the numbers I got off the internet was right. I had that digital readout thingy to tell me where to move the bit. I am self taught on the mill...so I don't know the right names of things.

Wow, It fits!

Almost done flushing rear window. Still filling in pinholes.

spent some time today bolting on my clutch. Then mounted my trans on to the engine for the last time I hope until I blow it up or burn it up.

A body guy once told me shaving the drip rails on the first gens is a big no-no. But im not sure if there is something that can be done to make up for the severe loss in rigity of the rails, to the roof. Im not positive here so take what ive repeated by a specialist as a grain of salt. Cool project so far though.

No tunnel mods. I did mod the crossmember. Someone else would have to tell you if the shifter location moved because on my car the previous owner made a huge hole that I filled in. Then I made my new hole.
