All of the numbers go on the driver's side of the block 1-4. 5 is the rear and the number goes to the passenger side. The "U" part of the 1 and 5 caps face inward.

yeah i got it figured out 1-4 tabs to back 5 tab to front, next week the block goes to the machine shop. im delivering my t56 to the guy that bought it tonight, tomorrow im working on the engine bay, and saturday i work till noon so no progress till next week.

engine is going to the machine shop monday after work, im picking up the rings and bearings probably tomorrow. the deal with the heads fell through, so back to finishing up the shortblock

takes 3 days at the machine shop, so i rescheduled for wednesday so i actually have time to get everything else ready while im waiting. the engine bay is coming the rest of the way apart today so i can start painting it.

i was planning on using the stock bottom end but a handful of sand fell down in it and i changed my mind real quick. plus cam bearings will be a breeze with no crank or rods in there

the drivers side engine harness is a pitfa!!!!!!! but its out. i finally got the abs block out using a pipe wrench on the nuts. next step is pulling the front clip off and dropping the k member. then paint

engine is getting the 5 stage hone tomorrow! its already been tanked once. the engine bay is stripped of everything electrical, brake booster steering column and tomorrow the front clip is coming off then friday the k member/front suspension to media blast the engine bay this weekend then im going to prime it after im done blasting and get it cleaned up. ive been taking pics when i remember.

yes its a torque plate hone and i think it is unnecessary for it. but 3 different grits then 2 polish using a cork stone. idfk but if the rings dont seal hes paying for it to be redone and new rings. hes the only shop i can make it to after work. the other guy ive always used wont stay later for me to get there. so im kinda stuck getting screwed on this deal

well guys, its GO time... im going to have that front clip off tonight and hopefully the front suspension!
