LTX --> LSX Conversion Sticky
Go check out the first page..
Depends on your budget..5.3 works pretty well, ofcourse you'll get more out of a 6.0. Pretty much everything is interchangeable, except rectangular port heads on anythng smaller than a 6.0. LS7 heads are 4.1 minimum bore. Keep your accessories the same..corvette, car, truck.

Finally about to give up my LT1... Giving me way too many problems and I'm ready to go ls... Is going with a 5.3 worth it or should I wait and try to find a lq for a reasonable price? I know the lq works best with ls3 or 243 heads, but what about the 5.3? Other than intakes, what ls parts are actually interchangeable on the 5.3?
It's been done before, but even then the builder said it was a bad idea due to several things being thrown off in the rest of the driveline. You have to have the LS1 rack and steering shaft if you're gonna run longtubes anyway....might as well spend a little more for a stock k-member & mounts. It won't cost you much more than a set of conversion motor mounts that throw the fit of everything off.

I'm still trying to figure everything I'll need.
Was thinking of doing a tubular K-member on mine over the winter and pulling out the LT1 stuff. Besides steering stuff, would the stock LT1 a-arms work on an LS k-member? Because if its essentially just bolting in a k-member and getting an LS style steering rack and shaft, its not too bad. I want to get tubular a-arms eventually, but need to start with only the necessary parts.
1994 TRANS AM CONVERSION WITH A LS1 from 2002 CORVETTE
Ok after about 1 1/2 yrs and more $$ than originally planned, I can see the finish line. Engine and tranny done! Moving on to the suspension. It seems like I will need different springs to compensate for weight difference? Any suggestions? Also, I have not mocked up dropping the engine in yet which came from a y-body. Will the the alternator fit similar to the placement in the vette or will it need to be a lower mount typical in F-body? I believe I've seen it both ways but not sure. Lastly, I've a read a few post that say iwill need an LS1 steering rack. Does that mean specific from an F-body LS1 or does it matter (ie. from a Y-body'98-02)
Thx

Trying to figure something out.. I cannot find the C105 connector on my 95 Camaro. Going from 3.4 V6/A4 to LS1/T56. I see the C100,C105,etc.. on the LS1 harness, but I cant find where it will plug into in the engine bay. The C100 connector is in the engine bay close to the PCM on the passenger side and that is that only one. Here is a pic of a harness showing the C100 & C105 side by side:
http://shbox.com/1/harness.htm
Where does the C105 plug in at? There are 2 connectors on the passenger side engine bay(C100 & wheel speed sensor down low on the frame. nothing else.. the C100 is there then all the wires run from it to the fuse/relay box on driver front side engine bay.
Is the C105 NOT there because it is a V6 car? if that is the case what will I need to do?
I have heard that the 95-97s all had the C105 and the 93-94s did not. However this is a 95 3.4 V6 I know for sure. So I dont know what the problem is.

This is the only connector on the passenger in the engine bay except for the twisted green/org wire you see going down to the frame. So this is the C100 correct? The LS1 harness I have has C100, C101,& C105. The V6 harness has C100 ONLY.
Will I need to completely cut off the C101 & C105 from the LS harness and put all the wires from them into the C100? If so are there enough spaces? lol just really confused. First try at wiring something up.
hey guys , got a 94 z im doin a ls and powerglide into . im doing a standalone wiring harrness and aftmkt gauges . my question is what chssis wiring am i gonna have to hook up etc as the car is still a "streetcar" so i need all lights .
