Yep bought the truck in Duluth right over the bridge from superior, wi where I'm from. Theirs another member on here from bemidji but can't remember who he is
friday the 13th sucks. first the garage was freezing because it was only 12 degrees out today, so that took an hour before we got some real work done. then we cut the hell out of the radiator support in order to tuck it back but the fans still wouldnt fit, we even cut the fans up to try to wedge it in there but things still arent fitting right. so we barely got any work done but maneged to finish a few things.
got the driver seat mounted, but we didnt have a bracket for the passenger side yet
got the shifter mounted too, still need to run the cable and such
hopefully getting the return line ran, fans/radiator fitted, accessories mounted, shifter finished, and other seat installed monday

My little sonoma was miserably tight without a turbo to hell with that. I can't figure out for the life of me where in the hell some of these people are finding the room. It was all I could do to get the radiator a/c condenser and electric fans in the little room I had.
It'll be bad and you'll love it when done I have pissed off more than my share of camaros challengers and mustangs with mine.

I'm just using belltechs 3/3 v6 lowering kit from jegs. Comes with springs for the front and drop blocks for the rear. Haha I know what you mean about the little room. I'm not running ac so it helps me a little with room but with me deciding to keep heat the last second my motor mounts are all the way forward now making it basically impossible to fit my electric fans in. Other than that I'm not worried about fitting the turbo in the passenger side corner I got plenty room since my crossover is going to be underneath the bellhousing. My intercooler was pretty hard to fit though but I managed that. I was thinking about an lq4 with bolt ons but I'm too obsessed with turbo and I want something that will blow my socks off so I decided to go turbo. I bet it's a blast either way though if you got a build thread Im gonna check it out.

Hey it's my first time on here in a while sorry guys the updates I have aren't that great so far because I haven't been able to get out in the garage because I am broke now and been working full time and going to college 5 days a week and I don't wanna do little boring updates so they will be big ones this point on. Next week all the turbo piping will be finished and the wiring harness and all the electrical will be done the following week. So I promise I'll make it up to you hang in there guys it will be well worth the wait
Sarg your buddy got a good pick. I paid $700 for my 5.3 and it's not even an aluminum block!!! But up here it's the best deal I could find so oh well. I woulda went with an overdrive tranny if it didn't cost so much to build and if they weren't 100lbs more than my th400
well i finally got a day off of work and the old ladys at work and i got bored and i am pretty broke until this friday when i order all my turbo piping, wiring harness, and tons of other stuff from jegs. the passenger side manifold for the swap header ended up coming too far forward, so what i did was use the driver side truck manifold flipped but it was pointing up and looked stupid and the flange was really retarded looking and didnt want to go through the trouble of making one to fit it so i took it to a local shop to get a v-band welded to it. anyway i am 100% sure all the wiring and turbo piping will be done within the next few weeks and hopefully get her started within a month or so. i didnt wanna update right now i wanted to do one huge one for you guys but i cant wait and i dont think you want to either so ill post all my pics i have for you so far.
first of all, heres a problem i ran into with the fans, i got them in there and they dont hit anything but the power steering will need to be moved out like so and my dad is finishing up the bracket soon so the accessories will be done
heres how we first routed my retarded *** upper radiator hose just for ***** and giggles but i ended up taking that shitty looking loop out of there lol
and heres how it looks after. much better and i got my steam line fitting tapped into it also
heres a shot of how close the radiator fans are to my accessories. its gonna be pretty much impossible fitting my intercooler hose in but it should work
heres what i ended up doing for the lower radiator hose because it was pretty much too impossibly close to run any kind of flex line so i used two 1 1/4" 45 degree copper fittings and soft soldered them together to give it this weird bend
heres the upper view
lower view
also made the brackets for the passenger seat. just used two pieces of aluminum angle
shifter all done
got my pillar guages mounted. a/f ratio and boost
the vacuum/boost hose ran through the firewall from the guage
the dash all ripped off ready for the wiring to be done
forgot to take a picture of the fuel pump and my gigantic filter haah. just gott run the return line from the regulator
got the t76 tapped for my wastegate for the best reference
heres the swap header flipped but its way too far forward and i wont be using it
thats it for now. expect one of the best updates within a couple weeks from now. stay tuned

haha yessss a big pain in the ***. and just wait till all the turbo stuff comes into play, its going to be much worse. your s10 sounds mean sometimes i think i would have been better off doing a naturally aspirated set up like you and more cubes but once all this turbo stuff is done and this thing gets running i think ill like the turbo set up.

keep up the good work
all the problems you are having is exactly why I went and bought a fullsize 2wd truck ther is alot more room that way. we will definetly get together this summer. My brother also has a 94 caprice that has a 396 stroked lt1 thats in the juice it will be running around too.

Yeah I bet theirs tons of more room in a fullsize haha alot less of a headache. But I got an s10 because it's alot smaller and lighter than a fullsize and an s10 won't take as much power to run the same as a fullsize in the quarter. We definitely gotta meet somewhere I'll be going to rock falls quite a bit hopefully and doing the Garfield time trials in Duluth.
$50 ******* dollars for exhaust shipping from ohio to superior? WTF! you have to ******* be kidding me. this makes me angry dumping $350 on turbo piping
