its been a while and my list is narrower but firing my car up is getting closer. the previous problem i had with my passenger side header has been taken care of. i cut off the original flange and welded a new one on. it gave me just enough wiggle room, about a 1/2 inch. the problem wasnt getting the header between the fram it was bolting it up. i was lucky enough to get the time and i did and as soon as the header goes on she'll definitely make some noise.

i am in need of an opinion, 2 cents or how ever u want to think of it. i got everything back together after finishing my header, filled her with fluids and cranked it over and nothing. i have fuel and no spark. my controller is wired to a switch 12v source on my fuse panel. everything else wired to the fuse panel works as it should. i think its either a bad ground or a bad box, i didnt have enough time to find a better ground. my box is grounded to a carb stud if that helps. any and all help is welcome, thanks.

thanks for the advice. i tried that with no better result. i might have a bad crank sensor. all i had time for was to re-ground it and try another so i'll keep crankin away.

that was a pretty good idea. got everything taken care of. apparently my switch 12v source wasnt good enough. i took another suggestion to wire my box directly to the old coil wire. after that the fat lady sung me a song, lol.

To adapt the -6 line to the gas tank i cut the feed line on me sending unit and flared it to 37 degrees and used a tube nut and sleeve and connected it with a -6 union. As far as updates i still need to bleed the brakes and weld the trans tunnel. I bought carpet and a shifter for it the cold weather and my work schedule dictates what i can do. I have had my driveshaft shortened. I should have mentioned earlier the best place i found for my fuel pump was on the x-member for the upper rear control arms. Id like to keep my shifter on the column. I looked at some lokar cable shifters but Im not sure i have room. If any one has any suggestions on my shifter dilemma let me know. I don't know if i could adapt the cable and brackets off a newer chevy truck. Have u made a thread on you 77 id like to see that build.

Im going to attempt to get back into working on this car. One of the things to do is install a shifter on the floor. That means i have to get rid of the column shifter. I've never done this before and would like some advice on removing the arm and anything else i might not think of doing or something i need to do. I read on a s10 forum something about the same thing and the steering column still being able to lock, but it could lock driving down the road. Would i be better off to get an ididit column. Thanks for any advice.

I finally got around to giving the ole' girl some attention. Everything that I've accomplished has given me a new hope that one day ill get to drive this car. The first big thing was to get the trans tunnel finished and the carpet in. I got my gauges where i want them and my seats are bolted down for good. I had plans of trying to tuck and smooth the bumper but for now it will do for now. After some scratching my head i think ill be able to get away with using the original shifter arm and bracket. That has been a big worry of mine.

you can trade in your column shift column for a car that had floor mount shifter. Long as gm, they should just plug and play. change out steering wheel and your good to go. may get lucky and find one with the same color.

I made some time to get back in garage. After all the work and time she pulled out of the garage on her own and my oldest son even washed it off for me.

For the console shifter, just push the pin out of the handle on the column and remove it. This is the way they do it on 94-95 Impala SSs that swap in a 96 console. I bought a 96 console to use in my wagon, and am going to do this to mine.

A 94-96 console would look great. It would look a little cleaner than a aftermarket one. I got lucky and took the shift arm off the original metric 200 and it worked with a little adjusting.

The winter projects have been to remove what's left of the vinyl top and add a fusebox to my harness. I knew i needed to add a fusebox to but i didn't know i had to re-do it. Thanks to loweredd and lt1swap i got it added. I found a butt connector farm and a frayed tach wire. Ondumadumgood note the elements weren't to bad to the roof of my car so far.

I recently bought a set of 3:73's for my car. I think I may have ordered the wrong ones. The gears I ordered are for a 3:08 or numerically higher diff. This is what I found when I took the cover off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
