Default Need HELP with LT1 to LS1 swap!!!

I have a 97 Z that I got fedup with the LT1 not running right more then half the time.
Decided to do an LS1 swap.
Motor is an 01 6liter with L92 heads and LS3 intake and custom cam.
Trans is my 97 4L60 with all new heavy duty guts.
I bought a 99 LS1 harness from a member that had already been modified by Speartech.
I bought the adapter for my injectors, and a adaptor harness that I don't remember what it adapts.
I either read, or was told to buy a 98 coolant temp sensor for the swap.
My harness still has a 2 wire plug, not the 3 wire needed for the 98 temp senser.
I have 2 or 3 wires on the right front of the motor that I'm not sure were they go, and the same on the left front.
Car is at a friends garage. I'll try to post pics of what I'm talking about tomorrow.
Just find it funny that this harness was used on a 97 with a LS1 and the temp sensor that I need for a LS swap doesn't connect to a already modded harness.
Thanks,
Rob

You should have used the 98 Harness, you're also going to need a 98 PCM.

My theory is this. The 97 Car with the LS1 probably blew the motor and had to put a new motor in that was a newer year (99 - 02) and they had the wiring harness re-worked... or they added some accessories to the engine which required additional wiring like Electric W/P, Electric Fans, ect... in the end though, the only harness that is going to be compatible with your car is the 98 harness and PCM. Your instruments and other things will not work otherwise.

You dont need a 98 pcm, any 411 will work fine. Post pics, we are all guessing otherwise

Need HELP with LT1 to LS1 swap!!!-securedownload-1-2-.jpg Right center of motor next to the fuel rail.

Need HELP with LT1 to LS1 swap!!!-securedownload-1-3-.jpg Right front of motor, I think it goes to the map/maf

Need HELP with LT1 to LS1 swap!!!-securedownload-1-.jpg Left front of motor, just behind the left coner of the throttle body

Need HELP with LT1 to LS1 swap!!!-securedownload-2-2-.jpg Right front of motor next to connector in picture #2

Need HELP with LT1 to LS1 swap!!!-securedownload-2-.jpg Right side of motor down by right header. I think it goes to the coolant sensor, but not sure if it needs to be changed. Was told I should use a 98 coolant sensor, but it takes a 3 prong plug.

Right side is to your right looking at the motor in front of the car

This is a Casper LS1 to Ls3 adapter. Was told I needed it. It looks to me like all I need is to extend the wires from the back of the intake to the front. I need the same style plug as the top plug on both ends, not two different types.

Yes you need to extend the map sensor to the front an use the fbody sensor. You will either need to silicon it in or make a bigger rubber seal because the LS3 hole is bigger.
You will want to use te 3 wire coolant sensor reason being your gauge will not work otherwise. Just wire the 2 wires into the proper locations then run the 3rd wire to the inside harness connector.

For the CTS sensor you need the proper 3 prong pig tail. You will have to cut that pig tail off and solder the new one on. The third wire will need to be routed to plug C220 cavity K a dark green wire, which goes directly to the guage on the dash.
