As the title says. I got a Summit brand 37* AN flare kit. In the instuctions it states to follow the picture. It appears that the tubing is flush with the flare bar. I tried it once and it barely made a flare.
It didn't appear to push the tubing down (slip). I would imagine the flare should be aproximately the size on the flares on my male unions.
Can someone confirm this? Pic possably? Yes I looked on Youtube. I want to make sure my tubing has the propper sized flare before I waste what little spare time I have.
Thanks for any help guys!

i bought the same tool. i clamped it down as hard as i could and left just a lil bit stick above the bar. as long as the flare doesnt interfere with the threads u should b fine.

As others said, you may need some stick out to get enough material for a proper flare. You also need to install the nut and sleeve onto the tube before forming the flare. Generally speaking if the flare OD fits inside the nut , it is not too big.
I use a Ridgid 41162 "377" flare tool. It works great.
