Had to swap the crank gear off my old junk ls1 crank to the new one. Was pretty easy, pulled the old one off with a 3 jaw puller and baked the gear to about 250 and slid it on the new crank.
Installed my Melling High Volume oil pump.
Just waiting on my cam to finish the front of the motor off.
Fabbed up a cable conversion bracket for my tbss intake.
Made it out of a fbody v6 bracket.

Got the PCM mounted. Opted for the S10 bracket rather than the fbody.
Finished up the interior wiring. Swapped some unused wires and plugs for my fuel cell/fuel pump wiring to go to the rear of the truck.

Cut the dash to kinda make it look decent. Ill just leave it like this until I get tired of it.

In the meantime. Had to get a few odds and ends parts. Put the updated rear main seal, a new knock sensor, and the red oil pump o-ring.

Been a little while since my last update.
Dropped the heads off to have my dual springs checked for seat pressures and binding.
Checked good for my .620 lift cam.
Had my oil pan cleaned up.
Picked up a set of 3.92 rear gears for free! Cant complain there.
Had my aluminum grille shell powder coated tuscon black.
Plumbed up my trans cooler through the core support using hydo bulkhead fittings.
Wired up an Oil and Trans Temp Gauge.
Installed my C-Channel adapters to go to my S10 V8 slider engine mounts.

Cam and Headgaskets are being ordered next week. Finally engine and trans should be going in. Then got to pull the bed to plumb the fuel cell. Install Cal-Tracs and have the rear end housing powdercoated black.

Motor and trans finally installed! After a year....lol
Had to notch the frame to accept the fbody headers.

So much room between the engine and firewall. The slider mounts are slide all the way to the rear.

Engine bolted right up to the stock dodge location. S10 Ls1 mounts worked great.

4L60e trans mount almost mates up to the stock 727 trans location.

Oil cooler lines just the right length.

There we have it. The worlds first Lq4 powered 1987 Dodge ram 2wd!!

Now just the little bs here and there. Fuel system and rear axle next.

Got the Fbody headers to fit pretty good. Had to do some notching and such. Going to tackle the transcooler lines next.![](https://scontent-b-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t1/q71/s720x720/1620885_733771799975895_1951346452_n.jpg)

I was impressed with the no modification needed for the powersteering connections. Used the factory fbody bends and everything. Almost looks like it was made for the truck.

Pretty much at a stoping point for now. Have to have a custom driveshaft made up.
74 1/2" 4" aluminum driveshaft from Action Machine. 1350 U-Joints as well.
Stole a transmission crossmember off a 90's chevy truck and cut it to fit the dodge frame.![](https://scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t31/p180x540/1939800_741443662542042_1750934641_o.jpg)
Walbro 255 inline pump into a corvette filter/regulator.

Fuel cell installed. Need to make a door for the bed.

Engine bay pretty much finished up. Ill order my hood in a few months.

Out with the old Auburn 3.23's and in with the Eaton True Trac 3.92' I was originally going with either 4.11's or 4.56's but I got the 3.92s for $FREE! Also getting rid of the factory dodge diff yoke for a Stange 1350 yoke.

Finally got my custom driveshaft back.
74 1/2"L 4"D 1/8" Aluminum. paid $350 shipped.

Picked me up a fancy car trailer too.

After I setup the differential she is ready for fluids to run. Probably be doing that in a month or so. Got some training to attend in the meantime that leaves me away from home.

Had the differential setup a few weeks ago. 1350 Pinion yoke installed.
Going to be out of state for a bit for some training. When I get back I'll order all my fluids
for the break in and such.
Filled up the fuel cell. Primed system. No leaks!
No Check engine lights either!

If I can make a suggestion, unless you like a lot of vibration in your driveline and the rest of your vehicle, get some rubber or urethane mounts for the engine and transmission. Having no flex in them will cause premature failures in either block or transmission due to the excessive vibration. Think drag racing, guys that use solid mounts usually have the body stiffened up with roll cage to prevent twisting. Friend kept busting C4 tailshaft housings til he put a rubber trans mount in, allowed the motor/trans to flex enough on launch he quit busting housings.
