Default TR6060 question

i am confused and could use some help. I am installing a supercharged LSA 6.2 crate engine from GM performance. I ordered a tr6060 six speed trans part number 24258817 from GM performance also and receved the trans but it is not what I expected. the one I recieved has the shift rod coming out t he back

and the place where the remote shifter goes looks like this

all the other 24258817 transmissions I looked at have the remote shifter on the top like this
http://www.crateenginedepot.com/TR60...17-P18242.aspx

what part number should I have ordered?

You should have got a t56 magnum. It is basically a tr6060 setup for retrofit applications.

Yes I know, but I am building this for a customer and he wanted to get the engine and trans from a dealership. the dealer will swap it out for a trans from a 2010 Camaro wich I believe is a TR6060 also, is there any difference between the two other than shifter location? thanks

The 2010 Camaro SS is a TR6060 and has an external shifter.

You can mount a shifter on the detent cover (McLeod),

but if you need the shifter further back, you have two options, build a custom shifter - my way

Or- change the mainshaft and tailhousing - a nice build

Looks like it would work fine in a forward mount position. I looked at one, but didn't get it.

That looks like a good part. I havent measured it, but I think the "ball" end that goes down into the shift mech needs to be a little longer for a 6060 than on other Tremec transmissions.

thanks for the input, the LSA motor has a 8 bolt crankshaft and I read the TR6060 from a Camaro will not work. I ordered the install kit from GM performance that comes with the flywheel and the dual disc clutch setup. I think I will order the shift rail for a Camaro TR6060 (it should hopefully be the right length) and replace the one in this trans with it and then get the Mcleod shifter. if anyone knows why this would not work please let me know.
thanks again
