That's awesome that you get to keep the awd. What kind of system is it? 4wd or some type of viscous coupler as a center diff?

I'm looking for a set of shorties that hug close to the block and exit down and back or similar to yours. Need them to be mirror of each other not the weird chassis specific ones.

Considering the Army was considering buying the A-10 it's pretty obvious how much they still want it for CAS.

It' a full time AWD system that has a drive shaft that goes straight fwd to the front differential, how it determines how much, I'm not sure, YET. I've read where it's really only about 20% of the drive force. I need to do more research.

These headers should work good for that, they seem to be well made, I just hope they hold up to the wrap with all the extra heat and don't crack.

I've worked with a few people that were in on the F16 trials to see if it could do the A10 mission, and it failed. There are so many things that the A10 can do where these new high speed, high tech, very expensive aircraft can NOT. You have a choice 50 rounds of 30mm at maybe $20 a round or one $60,000 missile at each target. Fly low and slow for a longer time with a positive ID on targets or very fast, depending on computers to ID and fire at targets, like the resent B1 friendly fire incident. Common Sense will not be used till the T.O. is written.

Cool project. What air intake is that? Where is the MAF? got any other pictures which show it?
Scott from Renegade hybrids is a cool /good guy. He was my chief driving instructor at PCA in the southwest region. Is that from whom you bought your swap kit?

The intake isn't finished yet. I need to add a 3" pipe with the MAF to duct it to the wheel well. Yep, Renegade Kits.

I'm working on the fuel line and planning the exhaust at this time.

Very interesting build you have going. I may have missed it but what alternator bracket and alternator are you using?

I retired from the USAF in 2010 (22yr MSgt, 3D1X1, RF Transmission Systems). During the Gulf War we were at the A10 FOL at King Khalid Military City, Saudi Arabia. A10's are bad ***!

Thanks Much and thanks for your service. I missed the A10's Gulf War I was on the B52's at Moron, Spain during that time.

The alternator bracket came with the kit from Renegade Hybrids, Half moon bracket and 3 bolts and a 1/2 spacer I think. Alternator is just the standard LS1 from a 90's Camaro.

Did you buy a brand new crate engine?

I had to replace the oil pan, had a hairline crack and was leaking. I bought a E-Bay Corvette pan but there seems to be a difference in the oil by-pass, anybody know if this will be a problem, the picture shows the blue tape marking the difference. almost looks like there should be a plug in that hole. The red one is the old one. Thanks

Also started to mock up the air intake, this is a 3" pipe and not sure if it will be big enough.

I believe that oil pan is from a VVT vehicle and that's where the oil pressure relief valve goes.

Thanks, I put a plug in it, cause it looks like the pressure relief will vent to the side ports.

Home made bracket, 2 pieces of sheet metal with RTV sealant between and RTV between bracket and frame, maybe hold down noise and vibration.
