Project ls swap c10 *update post 48*
Well I have finally gotten around to starting the swap in my truck. I have been gathering parts for almost a year now. Been scanning ls1tech, buying from friends or friends of friends. Still have a ways to go, but hoping within the next 2-3 weeks, it will be running. Still waiting to get the heads back from the machine shop and need to order a hand full of misc parts and wiring.
The shortblock:
How it sets right now:
Building of the wiring harness, about 2/3 done with it:
Wiring harness is 80% done

Im doing dbw. Will be much easier and cleaner along with making the cruise work.
Meh honestly its not that bad. With all the info available, its more time consuming than anything. i changed how the harness routes so its taking a little longer. If I were to do it again, i would route the tb and maf harness through the valley and flip the injectors around and make it a little cleaner.
Yeah, i was hoping to have the motor assembled and on a stand to do this part, but my heads are at a buddys shop getting ported and i needed to set the motor in before i returned the cherry picker, so that kinda screwed me, but doing it this way isnt that bad.
Oh and all the covers are powder coated. I get a hookup on coating through the shop i work at so it wasnt that much more to just coat rather then paint.

yep was it you guys that teamed up with us over at ck5.com for a test truck with ls swap to start making them ?
i read up on the project and was glad to see someone step up and ask for a real vehicle so we didnt get the typical 4x4 header hits the shackle bolts problem .

Thanks ill check those out also. I'd like to do headers as my heads are getting extensively ported and a cam will happen soon. Oh and I am almost done smoothing my intake. Been thinking about going with the edlebrock truck intake

Yeah I was originally planning truck manifolds but got these free with the flanges and o2 bungs and I know they will fit with 0 issues. Guy I work with did this swap and used 2010 Camaro shorties.

Started with a cutoff wheel to rid of the large stuff. Then I hit it with a 36 grit sanding disc on an angle grinder. Then 120 grit on the grinder and ill finish with a roloc disc. I am almost ready to start with the roloc. Once that is done ill use some filler primer, sand it with 400 then 600 grit paper and shoot some black semi gloss engine enamel. Hoping it looks good once done, ill have around 2-3 hours in it once done.
